Probably because they need to actually pass a technical interviews to get in rather than just being able to con their way through informal interviews.
This has been my experience in (non-FAANG) engineering, although most of the South Asian ancestry engineers I've worked with have been citizens or at least permanent residents that studied at good schools in the US, so it's probably not a representative sample of the space. I've had no real complaints about working with them, and many have been quite talented and motivated.

The problem with the values side is the values aren't really verifiable. The homeland of a people side feels under threat in large part because many of the people coming in aren't expected to believe in meritocracy, free speech, or any of that.
Take the example of Judge Chutkan. Her parents left Jamaica and brought her to the US because they were too hardline communist for the communists of Jamaica.
The Dems appointed her to be a DC judge precisely because she has weak cultural ties to the US and can't be shamed into following traditional American legal norms. Appeals to democratic traditions and rights just fall flat on her, she just hates her political enemies.
Republican voters see her in charge of the DC Trump trial and loose all faith in values based immigration.
Oh and it's a big lie that H1-Bs go to "highly educated foreign professionals". Sure decent chunk do. But they are randomly selected from the pool of applicants that have the correct paperwork, so there are significant abuses.

Many born Hindus do accept Hare Krishnas as Hindu iirc, it’s more that western observers see it as kind of a new age cult because of the audience it attracted in the 1960s (and still does today to some extent). But ISKCON is descended from some 15th century strand of “real Hinduism” via Krishnaism, part of the Vaishnavist collection of Hindu denominations.

I think perhaps you overestimate Trump's animosity towards "Little Marco, thirstiest man you've ever seen". Trump crushed him in the 2016 primary and now wants his support at the highest level. I don't think there is a feeling of animosity or contradiction inside of Trump.

There's a standard and very controlled foreign affairs education in the US (and the rest of the Anglosphere). All the top professors and think tanks interact with the State Department regularly. Papers like The Economist are approved reading. Atlantic Council galas are mandatory for the serious.
In that culture there's a disbelief in any sort of autodidactism. Not disapproval, they literally believe that you can't come up with any sort of informed opinion on your own. You need to go to the proper schools and read the proper papers.
When they see someone intelligent and charismatic on the popular stage with some views that differ they immediately ask "Where did she get that from?". Admitting that she developed different views from her experiences and encounters outside the continental US implies that their own education was insufficient.
It's easier to just claim she's a Russian agent.

Interesting, I kind of had the opposite experience. I liked her as along as I only saw her in clips or short interviews, but on Rogan she came off as pandering a lot.

The other really visible change is that seemingly most low-skilled customer-facing jobs have been are now done by Indians. Almost every grocery store employee, Uber Eats driver, security guard, fast food restaurant worker, and call centre worker is Indian.
People get their cousins or friends to get to the West through any means necessary so that they can escape India. It will get worse over time, you simply don't have 10s of millions of super smart Indians, if you did, India would not be well India.
Much of this racism comes from Indians themselves though. They often don't like Indians from certain parts of India or from certain castes. Many think we're letting in too many or the wrong kinds. There seems to be a lot of conflict between different groups.
It's an open secret, people of the south and Punjab game the immigration game, especially Sikhs in Canada. I am hesitant to write anything on these topics because I dont want to get doxxed and be turned into an Ian Miles Cheong-style figure. There is a reason why people kept this place heterogeneous for thousands of years.

Indians can be genuinely very smart, a good number are but most game systems via incorrect means. Khalistan is a about as likely as earth splitting in half in the next 2 days.
K pop does make korean guys smewhat more appealing to some younger girls but it isnt that large an impact. Okcupid data was fairly accurate. I dont have issues because I learnt to cold approach, I cannot imagine what its like being a legit incel in some place like NY where you have the hottest women ever born whilst you can barely get a landwhale to match with you. Dating apps are a scam anyway though they represent reality in a world where you have nothing going for you. Most guys are that way, very few actually are attractive personality-wise. I would not want to be some fresh off the boat asian or south asian guy who is short and cant get any intimacy whilst his sister can go and realistically have short-term flings with male model-tier guys since dudes would hit anything.

I saw people not interweaving between lanes for the first time in my life when I travelled outside the country, you cannot drive here at all, zero laws are followed.
Every single one I worked with was an H1B that almost certainly lied to get the job. In fact, I have never had a satisfactory experience working with an Indian in any position. I keep running into the same failure pattern where it's like they simply don't understand language, they just make convincing mouth sounds to get people to leave them alone. I've never successfully communicated a technical problem to an Indian in a way they've understood, no matter how hard I try. Other colleagues understand what I'm trying to communicate immediately.
Elaborate on this, you think they dont get english or the language you work in, btw indian scams for migration primarily happen in like 4 states, so 3 in the south and then sikhs from punjab, they make up 90 percent plus of all h1b and it aint because they are smart. Nepotism runs deep.
She was told point blank that they weren't going to hire her because she was white and they only hire other Indians. To this day she carries a grudge against Indians for being so nakedly discriminated against.
Shit like this is why I can't defend them anywhere, in my own home nation you get nationalised bioleninism and in the US you get ethnic nepotism where people call the host nation, its people and its culture names but refuse to ever return back to their homeland. Mass migration in any capacity is morally wrong. Brampton, the place where you see the highest density of subcon people is unlivable.
You have an industry where people buy h1bs by paying another firm to get it from them, its a pretty fucked thing. The quintessential Indian firms that have offices in the US are basically pajeet outsourcing operations, they cant be good hackers. There are great Indian hackers but most people who write code for a living are not it. Programming jobs are seen as a goldmine here so people make milking them thier lifes objective.

This would be pretty parallel to the (extremely) male fantasy of the zombie apocalypse, Red Dawn, preppers, etc. Disproportionately fantasies held by men who are wealthy and/or secure.
This comparison is appealing on the face of it but, I think totally different under the covers. The male disaster action hero fantasy is characterized by the main character specifically having a chance to massively increase their relative social standing and personal control over their life. If you're in white-collar management you're in charge of maybe 12 people and at the same time extremely aware of all the levels of management above you that decide your fate and interfere with your attempts to exert authority. Or even if you're a billionaire-- you're still in a social environment where you're in close competition with a number of near-peers and constrained by the actions of various governments and laws. Meanwhile, If you're a prepper in a zombie apocalypse you have a reasonable shot at being the undisputed leader of a gang of 20-30 people with total control over whether you all live or die.
The female equivalent are fantasies about being reborn as a villainess and in general being put in situations where they face ludicrously outsized social threats-- but from peers who oppose them personally and openly, rather than faceless social media egregores. It's the same sort of fantasy about having the tools and relationships to take a high degree of agency in solving their romantic and economic problems.
Meanwhile, the people obsessing about extreme political outcomes and oppression* are engaging in a more typical form of catharsis-- they already feel anxious and terrified and stressed out and uneasy. Imagining that they're under imminent threat from shadowy fascists puts that all into context and gives their negatives emotions justification and meaning. It's the same mechanism that leads schizophrenics to conclude they're being gangstalked.

Anti-Indian sentiment within the Anglosphere seems mostly confined to Canada and the UK, increasing in the former noticeably in the last few years because of the enormous ongoing immigration wave and diplomatic disputes over the relict Khalistan movement-in-exile. Indian-Americans are a cut above most other immigrant groups as far as education, income, and general "merit" go, even compared to Indians in other countries, so they don't tend to draw a lot of flak. Perhaps if India achieves a similar global status as China, Indians here will go from being ignored all the time to occasionally being harassed due to geopolitical events before being ignored again.

In the last few years the gender imbalances in interracial relationships seem to have evened out a bit in the US, at least with respect to Asians. I assume the increased prominence of Korean music and pop culture around the world had something to do with this. It will probably take popular perceptions a while to catch up and the stereotypes that were validated by the old OkCupid data are still alive and well, usually played for laughs but sometimes tinged with real resentment, particularly from the groups at the bottom of the totem pole i.e. Asian men and Black women.
