There are plenty of people who WANT to exterminate their culturally distant geographic proximates. The issue is whether a unifying culture can supersede underlying cultural distances. The unifying project of "never again" has provided a stable shell for Franco-German-Anglo relations to stabilize, but this is an aberration facilitated only by tangible outcomes. If the overculture fails to deliver, guillotines follow. And we live in an era where the major cultural touchstones are torn down with no functional replacement ethos. Neoliberalism and neoconservatism were destroyed by MAGA and progressivism, but annihilating the Protestant-Calvinist northeastern spine along with the neolib/con framings leaves the USA with a much more fractured cultural landscape.

Don't pretend for a single second that sympathy was extended towards Israel in any meaningful amount. The telegram channels were full of celebration and promises of painting Al Aqsa with Jewish blood and when it was clear that victory was not exhaustive then it immediately flipped to "we will suffer a genocide!".
The western left position is purely oikophobic. It is subversive and vanguardist in equal measure, casting down the holders of power while preserving institutions so that the left can occupy the vacant seats. The contempt the western left displays for its cultural proximates is a side effect of its primary desire to place themselves on top of the power structure by exploiting any underclass vector.

"of their own creation" is doing too much heavy lifting. In 1948 the Arabs invaded immediately, with Egypt and Jordan making little effort to integrate the Gaza and West Bank polities that were their nominal responsibility. When Jordan tried, they were rewarded with Black September. Lebanon collapsed when Palestinians allied with Hezbollah to use a functional state as a shield to launch rockets from. Gazan fields are a nice thing to show, because it immediately invalidates the "open air prison" narrative that makes Gaza seem like Kowloon Walled City under constant bombardment. Turns out there ARE open fields where Hamas could have operated from instead of under hospitals!
Ultimately holding Israel responsible ignores that the agency that Palestinians display repeatedly. The arab population within Israel is 20%. They are the Palestinian arabs that stayed in place and did not flee, and for that they were granted citizenship and participation in a project that makes this population the richest and most prosperous of their monoethnic neighbours. This domestic population has assholes just like the Haredi and settlers are largely assholes, but it is not nearly as bad as the Palestinians who are given maximal succour for their eternal dickishness.
There is a two state solution REPEATEDLY offered. It is Hamas that and PA that reject a 2 state solution that does not involve ISRAELI disarmanent and permanent withdrawal from Gaza. Hamas wants eternal ceasefire (Israel ceases Hamas fires) and no disarmanent. I see zero demands for accountability for Hamas and the Gazans who express repeatedly their desire for Hamas to press maximalist claims, and I directly attribute such fervent optimism to foreign pressure on Israel to accept the unworkable. Hamas repeatedly breaks ceasefires to cheers from Palestinians and their win condition is satisfied either way.
Israel is not being ALLOWED to take responsibility because international pressure is inconsistent and shapes domestic politics into temporally transient positions. There is little chance Israel can effect either a maximalist cleansing operation or a reconstruction effort with both eternal foreign pressure and Gazan intransigence. Again, the hypocrisy is on full display. No one gives a single shit about Arktash, Palestine is incomplete until it is made whole from river to the sea with jews expelled to the void.
Maybe they should do that. Arab populations exploded with foreign food and healthcare access. On their own recognizance they would not be able to feed or medicate themselves and their populations would revert to the limit of their organic capability. Famine is a loaded term, not to be employed lightly. Whatever the morality of the Gazan suffering - I make clear that I have no sympathy for people who incompetently execute their desires to assault their neighbours only to whine about retaliation after - the charge of famine is one that deserves to be taken seriously. Harvard college students on hunger strike go below the 1200 calorie per day average, Gazans report mass starvation and famine since 2023 yet have rounding error deaths attributable to hunger. A common thread I saw on the gazanow telegram channel (now deleted) was that Hamas was uploading their livestream of civilian massacres not for goreporn likes, but to prove the IDF was a hollow shell without the USA and that the entire rotten edifice was kicked open so the rest of the arab world, especially West Bank but Hezbollah and Syria too, could roll in to clean out the yahudi with no effort. I still don't know if this was a particularly inspired attempt to justify the gleeful livestreamed executions and rape aftermaths as serving some strategic reason, or if it was a sincerely held belief that Israel was nothing without the USA and Hamas had struck the singular crippling blow, or y'know, both.
The one thing that really baffles me is whether Hezbollah also failed to reign in its own militants itching for action given their lack of full greenlight from Tehran or likely Nasrallah himself. For all its failures and cosplaying at being a fighting force (uniforms for nasheed tiktoks, journalist vest for publishing in reuters, the senior Hezbollah leadership must have known that keeping its cards in reserve for any Israeli incursion was the right play no matter what Hamas did.
Maybe trading bodies for international sympathy could work as a viable end state wild card, but previous trends don't really bear it out. The intifadas didn't result in a materially improved ground condition for the Palestinians and for all the hatred Israel gets it still has a growing population and economy. If that is losing for Israel, I'm sure Israel will collapse immediately like most of the world wishes it would.

Why wait for Iran? Pakistan has nuclear devices available for sale to destroy the Zionists.The same problem for the Iranians would exist for the Pakistanis: how do you trust that Jihadi Jamal really is able to execute his plan to bomb Tel Aviv and is not compromised or incompetent. Russia could have sold any of its nuclear devices as well, but that runs into the additional problem of getting the cash into a usable form.
No nation outsources strategic capability to external actors, and Irans employment of such a strategy for the Axis of Resistance showed how hollow such a strategy ends up being. Lack of direct oversight saw Hamas pulling the trigger on bad assumptions and Hezbollah getting thoroughly compromised. Whether Iranian direct control would have been better is unknown, but if the benefit of strategic ambiguity is wasting money on incompetent stooges then the decision maker needs to be put on performance review ASAP.

My daughters generation expresses interest in sensitive artsy guys with glossy hair and perfect skin who happen to be straight. The irony is that this age of sexual liberation has convinced many women that risky sex is more about getting involved with a needy long term stalker than having a no strings fling with a hot himbo. To be entirely fair I think thats actually a good risk reward proposition, but it also overstates the utility of a romp with a himbo. Not to personally attack you for this line, but every time I see this type of reasoning or worldview hypothesized I always think to my work partner who wore clothes she was 60 pounds and 30 years over to wear. People free to wear whatever they want face social sanction for visual pollution as much as for social defection, and visual pollution is often worse because it has concrete quality of life (and often hygiene) disadvantages. If what trannies wanted to wear was just normal dresses or blouses no one would give a shit, but they insist on wearing garish crap like its a deliberate exercise in hostile signalling.
I also agree about the incentive structures, and it is telling that the incentive structures for progressives brute-force the outcomes to fit the mechanism they create rather than adjusting to realities feedback. Body positivity was shoved down all our throats for 6 years, and while men are irrelevant to the Victorias Secret Fashion Show, women are the net buyers of that stuff and shoving trannies and fatties hardly brought in new customers.
