Indian Tycoon and alleged oligarch Gautam Adani is about to be in deep trouble given the indictment by the US for 265 million dollars worth of bribery. Now anyone not living under a rock knows how corrupt South Asia is, but this still comes as a shock as Adani is a close public ally to Modi, the current PM.

Reactions on this have been mixed so far, quite a few Indians want him gone stating how inuldinging in obvious corruption that too as stupidly as his peple did is worthy of having your stocks tank. Adanis firms were under fire by the Hindenburg report on him which did cause some turbulence in his stocks. people at Hindenburg also pointed fingers at the cheif of SEBI, the SEC equivalent here and SEBI simply refused to talk about it. This indictment also came with a cancellation of deals in Kenya. The people involved in this includes pretty much the entirity of Indian political elite, irrespective of their geography, though he is still seen publicly as Modis guy.

The reactions to this are not surprising, BJP supporters are not defending him as fervently as last time which is not a good sign, no one in Indian stock market wants to fuck with stocks that are deemed suspect by the US so they probably are trying to cut ties with him without flipping 180. He is being defended quite a bit by tech bros many in finance are telling others to abandon ship. These are not ideollgically motivated people either. I had never expected to see people who talk about free markets come and defend out and out crony capitalism, the government changed its laws to let Adani bid and win multiple auctions, this is extemely well-documented too.

The tech bro argument can be boiled down to "he may be super corrupt like the nation but you are prosecuting him because he has control over Indian ports and is trying to move to international markets"." In contrast, some finance people just think that a firm that has had so many issues with regards to moral lapses is a terrible investment from a monetary perspective. Adani bought the only non BJP supporting new outlet NDTV which is an ultra progressive media house and just unwilling to say anything at all.

To any americans here, how bad is Adani case? Is this simply something being done out of fear of investors losing out on much or are the allegations of political turmoil true?

I listen to music more nowadays since I am on concerta so some recommendations. A lot of it is farily mainstream electronic music wise but many may not have heard these

  • For about 4 years (2012-2015) Inspected Records got some artists to collab and make music, the proceeds of which would go to movember charities, the tracks being Beyond the shadows, Cascade, Mosaic and the very last If you hadn't. These are mostly Koan Sound and friends from in or around biristol

  • Polychrome is a great mix of what many just call bass music, unlike deadmau5 their stuff is not 4 to the floor so the variation in drums is a nice contrast. Koan Sound's first album, their music just sounds polished audio wise, far more than a lot of other music I have heard. Their remix of Halo 4s green and blue is pretty nice too.

  • Random Album Title by deadmau5 (pronounced deadmouse) turned 16 this year and it is my favorite album of his, electro and progresive house was fairly good during the late 2000s and it caputres a good bit of that vibe. Tracks I recommend are Alone with you which is my favorite track from the album, Faxing Berlin was one of his breakout hits at the time, I remember was another breakout hit where he collaborated with kaskade and Jaded.

  • New Energy by Four Tet is pretty nice. It is not as strict genre wise as either of the two entries before, the standout track here is two thousand and seventeen which samples classical Indian music in the best way possible.

  • Immersion, is Pendulums most popular album due to having thier most iconic tracks like watercolor, witchcraft, crush and The island. They make rock-heavy drum and bass, with the island being their non dnb mega-hit.

I should catch up on new music though so any suggestions are welcome.

Fights

Petr Yan fights Figeuridoin at UFC Macau. Finally, a UFC card that I can watch in the evening; otherwise, it's a pretty thin card. Some time ago I pointed how MMA did not feel as fun as it once was, 309 was just terrible. two 40 year olds fought where the older, less active one lost because he was older, less active and did not care. Bo Nickal threw the kind of strikes you dont expect from anyone not a heavyweight and Michael Chandler looked terrible too.

have a fun weekend folks.

It's amazing lol, don't let my texting adventures deter you.

1mg is a good dose, you cannot come off it ever btw, once you start. You can also use dutasteride if fin isnt good enough. I don't know the dosage for that though.

oh yeah, good point lol. fixed it

Start finasteride immediately, don't look up the side effects, many people give themselves placebo. Also take minoxidil and maybe microneedle once a week. Been on it for 2.5 years, I'm 24, zero side effects till now

My actual output was close to 4 though, I wish to hit 12 on the time I spend working and what I get out.

I'm very behind on life, as long as I keep pushing more and balance that with meditation, a good rohtine, working out, I should be able to work more. Again working on the right thing the fight way matters too so I'll post more details.

I'll keep posting here, 9 hours is a good aim for 7 days.

Why is it tragic? Religion is fundamental to human existence, and even Christians have a school of contemplative practise. Though the Himalayas had the best schools for it. I dont want that side to do it then. If chanting a mantra for lord shiva is such a pain then people are best suited to the Sam Harris School of meditation which is not far off from Hustlers University in terms of rigor when compared to real schools.

No one I know started with the explicit goal to achieve enlightenment of the kind Shinzen Young had and it took him decades to get there. This is not me being rude, I am a noob at life but do you not think that the only correct answer for this for your own perspective can only come once you spend 5-10 years of following a proper path? You may have in which case I have nothing to add.

There is no mismatch, there has never been any mismatch and the people I know who do meditate never think about enlightenment as a goal. Might be because we are all beginners compared to someone like Hareesh Wallis. I have crippling ADHD, extreme issues not just from my lifestyle, life choices but also at a neurological level. I find profound benefits in this and was recommended to meditate even by my therapist in my psychiatrist's office.

You can meditate to be more grounded on a moment-to-moment basis. That, to me, is liberating, and anyone who sticks with it can give a decent answer for it. Enlightenment likely is real, but I can only know if I sit daily for an hour or more for decades on end. I purposefully dont read about it, I want to just sit and do whats needed, I can only experience things once I do that, anything else and I am ensuring that I dont get there.

@TowardsPanna is the right guy for this as he's a more experienced meditation practitioner than I am.

With regards to enlightenment, there are various paths in various traditions. I am not on the Buddhist track that many follow and I can't comment on the ideas about enlightenment properly though I will come back to this after a few days.

I have been meditating on and off for two years and nothing comes close to the equanimity I feel once I practice. It may be true that how you say people perceive enlightenment may not exist as we think it does but the benefits of meditation are profound, way stronger than any intoxicant I've tried and I've tried some.

Also jains and Hindus aren't the same. Buddhist meditation practices and the good Hindu ones come from the himalayas where you had intermingling of traditions, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh and Tibet being places where bulk of what we do indirectly has roots to. Ultimately I don't care about enlightenment as much, not because kashmir shaivism the school I'm a part of via tantra illuminated doesn't talk about it but because even getting closer to it than where I'm at would be life changing in the most literal sense.

There are people I've spoken to who are probably in a similar boat as you, but they can't recommend this stuff enough for the same reason. I'd definitely like to hear more, but for any theory, @TowardsPanna is the guy. I just paid 10 dollars for a three-month membership for Tantra Illuminated, so I was surprised to see this here. Happy coincidence.

edit - another happy coincidence, I saw this video of Shinzen Young describing the benefits of long-term meditation

I started mathacademy (50 dollars a month is literally half my pocket money, but worth it) today and spent 4 hours there. My median day programming is about 3-4 hours now up from previous weeks but still a total noob. I want to finish this short book "Javascript the good parts". After that my co-founder wants me to do typescript. I did hit the gym thrice so I am doing more, but does not feel enough.

Working out, writing front-end code, meditating, and doing math—I hope these daily activities help me a lot. I used to write long-winded paragraphs here and never do anything, so at least this is a start. I still struggle with a lot of issues, and my parents are rightfully worried that I will be left behind in Rajasthan forever. I will post more updates. Next week, I will aim for 7 hours of Javascript and 2 hours of math.

My interest in Twitter and the internet is now close to zero. I don't wanna know what xyz tech guy or nrx anon is upto, even girls since I nuked Instagram, there is endless info out there that is just pointless, I dont want to be 30 and still in a limbo, I am somewhat happy that I did something. 9 hours of work every day is a reasonable target given I can hit 8 now, I do feel tired and stupid after it.

edit - 8, so a few months before turning 25, I hit the daily work target of the average guy. I dunno if I should be happy about it or sad, definitely better than what I did last week, month or decade.

Pendulum is encapsulates two genres of music from the 2000s, rock and drum n bass. I first heard them at age 13 in 2013, I'm glad they still make music, though like all bands that reunite, they do seem past it.

Its early 2010s in a capsule, I'm glad they are still together. I do wish to listen to real deal classical music. Mozart, Bach, some Hindustani classical stuff too. I had this cringe notion f wanting to appear higher status and never danced or listened to music or learnt to play any instruments despite my parents begging me to. I wish I listened to them instead now.

A lot of music is about sex and liquor. It was jarring when I started noticing this 3 years ago lol. Not as aggressive as hip hop but pretty on the nose.

I am two years younger than you, the part about it being recession inspired is fairly obvious in hindsight, somehow you see music from that time being played more frequently in nightclubs than pop music made today.

I really think that music, modern mass produced music peaked in the late 2000s and early 2010s and 2020s barely saw anything distinct besides some people who took off due to having songs that won't stop playing when you open ig.

Half life 2 is my favorite game. I feel old, even though I was 4 when it came out and played it at 19.

Games used to be good :')

Listened to some more music from the past. Pendulum recently uploaded their cover of the taylor swift song anti-hero. Electronic music peaked in the early 2010s given how little new stuff we have coming out that is any different.

More music is being made today, but somehow it sounds less creative and generally worse. I am not old and feel like my dad when I say this. My dad famously only listens to music pre-90s since and he was my age in the 90s lol. Art forms peak and decline, electronic music might be this way.

I knew he was likely wrong, I just wanted to hear what others thought about it since I have not been with girls for more than a few hours at a time and no one talks about politics in nightclubs.

I used to attempt to strike up friendly conversations with with people in general, but naturally with an emphasis on not-unattractive women. Not in a particularly flirty way, either.

Do the opposite, start with flirty stuff around hot girls. Girl issues are normal and I sense that the girls you talk to can sense that you want to flirt but are on the fence. Also if you want to go home with girls you meet, never go away unless its fiarly obvious, no need to be creepy but getting a strong rejection once or twice is not bad at all.

Please write more about your issues. I was terrible with girls, somewhat better now.

Flip the script

Is that from mystery method or what?

You can just avoid shit tests entirely, the new meta so to speak by guys like fastlife is to avoid shit tests altogether. Also you are right about not wanting such girls around though the advice to leave is not good. If you wish to spend the night with the girl and her remarks are not completely crazy in a serious way then you should burn the set to the ground, at least then you would know more about what your own standards with this stuff is and if your own approach had issues.

op mentioned how he would talk to unattratcive girls without the intention to flirt, that cant be helpful unless you are simply building state.

yes, she knows whats up, you know whats up and you hiding it is a complete turn off. You dont have to explicitly verbally agree to stuff but your subcomms and intent should.

A while back a girl asked me if I fancied her, I gave a non answer and was hesitant, trying to act cool which I should not have.

Time blindness is very very real, especially for those like me with severe adhd.

Old man fight week

Tyson vs Paul is sad, Tyson is too old to be fighting even with roids. Paul has made a decent amount of money by fighting smaller, older, chinny people who have terrible technique. Jones v Miocic is not far off, Miocic is clearly washed and Jones is clearly nearly washed too and does not wish to fight tom aspinall. Weidman is washed af and he is on teh card too. The only decent fight is oliveira vs chandler and I think even they both are in their late primes or probably declining already.

Alum meetup at a wedding reception

went out with my dad for the reception of one of my dads ex-student (2nd marriage, first was 5 years ago). My dads a senior prof in the uni I went to, got his job at 22, would teach blow off social science classes in an engineering school so he is super popular with students. UNlike other people he was nice to them would have many over for drinks every week for a few decades. My senior invited plenty of alums and they all got drunk, I did not since I take concerta. Their stories were mostly about ragging or fagging or hazing depending on where you live is good, how they liked it, how the seniors and juniors developed a bond because of it. Also stories about beating up people from other schools, flrting with research scholars and mostly missing old times. We don't have any rituals at all here, in my nation I mean, both in high schools and unis. I am not sure how good this stuff was.

My uni experience was different, most dudes look like wusses compared to these guys, we had zero interactions with seniors, the only thing people did after class was watch movies, all the dudes hated me because they thought that I was someone who was good with girls.

Book of pook, a pre manosphere red pill sorta book was written by this Shakespeare but who argued the same, that romance is a sin that makes men less manly and cites romeo and Juliet as an example with verses.

Evolas sex life looked like that lol, he would rail feminists. I should try this political kink too 🤣

This will fail eventually as you get votebanks that become crystalised. What benefits does the average heritage amerikaner get from having Indians or Chinese becoming a permanent resident?

Why would you not defect, why do you get called names the moment anyone brings up dual loyalty?

India itself became an unfixable hellhole because fo too many ethnicities, China tried to fix it by imposing things on everyone.

This is an incredibly naive idea. If this is so, then should Israel or Saudi not also import people by the millions? Most people migrating or getting refugee status are completely incapable of being productive money wise. Large sums of money still don't justify the permanent issues demographic changes cause.

You can't have any tolerance for mass migration

America was a leftist project which got started by Anglo puritans, it was never supposed to be this way and having more people is a sure shot way of causing conflict.

If america were to raid India or China or Israel, will people of the respective ethnicities not have a very high chance of siding with nations they come from?

Demographics matter, they matter as much as policy or maybe far more or less. America is it's people.
