I’d consider attacking a mixed race person based on their identity well beyond the pale. However this is a forum that vigorously defended a child rapist last week so unsurprised the reaction to Trump’s racism. Lot of weird people here.

“I didn’t know she was Black until a number of years ago when she happened to turn Black and now she wants to be known as Black. So, I don’t know, is she Indian or is she Black?”

That’s the quote, questioning if a mixed race person is black. OP claiming Trump Is somehow above the mud of dirty politics is laughable.

Less we forget Trump was a huge pusher of the birth certificate claim against Obama. He’s been this way all along.

I meannnnn trump has a $83mm defamation judgement against him and he’s currently claiming that Harris isn’t actually black.

Politics is dirty and Trump loves it in the mud.

The most recent was on the Tik Tok ban which he rallied for then turned against.

I do think the flip flopping will be one of the best lines of attack against her.

In her case, she’s very lucky to be running against Trump who changes his positions with the wind.

This isn’t a tactic. Defending a 19 year old raping a pre teen is legitimately very weird behavior.

I’m frankly amazed that me calling someone who preyed on a 12 year old a rapist has generated this reaction. He legit is a convicted rapist.

Definitely not weird behavior to give a full throated defense of the terms used to describe a 19 year preying on a 12 year old.

This discussion and the “hyper online right wing guys are weird” being a few post from each other is great comedy.

If this guy didn’t want to be called a rapist for the rest of his life he shouldn’t have had sex with a 12 year old. This isn’t hard folks

Before the debate disaster it was much closer and 80% of the country thought Biden was too old to be president. Harris shakes that liability and will be able to actually campaign, unlike Biden.

Trump can still win but i believe Harris has a decent shot (unlike post debate Biden).

He’s -12 in unfavorable/favorable on 538. It’s an improvement from when he was closer to 60/40, but he’s still very unpopular.

I also think trump is basically at his ceiling as people have very hardened views on him at this point. Was going to be enough to beat Biden but might not be enough to take on someone who isn’t 81.

I think that’s where the current polls are at. However, Harris is going to be able to launch a campaign that benefits from rock bottom expectations.

She could end up not improving her position but I think just based on those low expectations she has upside and it won’t take much of a gain to overtake Trump.

I think Trump is in trouble vs Harris. Especially if she picks the PA governor as her running mate. Trump is very unpopular but had the benefit of running against someone even more unpopular.

Harris’s current numbers are bad, but I think she has upside once she’s untethered from Biden.

Either way 4 months is a lifetime in election politics and we are in for a wild ride to the finish.

I just can’t see Biles anywhere near the top after the 2020 games. I get that she’s dominated everything else, but in one of the biggest moments she didn’t perform.

The list in general seems to have a huge Olympics bias with Biles being in the top 10 the most questionable given her 2020 withdrawal.

However I think the worst pick in the top 20 is easily Lewis Hamilton. The car is responsible for way too much in F1 for any driver to be ranked that high.

I didn’t read any further than top 20 so might get worse after that.

Deregulation to increase housing development feels like the biggest bang for your buck pro growth policy out there.

Just ease the regulations and let private investment handle the rest. Parking may get more difficult for some but to me that’s a fair trade.

Yeah I’d argue republican elites have even less control of their party. The GOP is captured by the % of the base who loves Trump.

I think it might be hard for the GOP to say Newsom did awful in SF/Cali. The tech industry has been so overwhelming successful that I’m sure it gives Gavin plenty of stats that make him look amazing.

Not that he had anything to do with the success of tech, but he will no doubt take credit for growth numbers that are a result of tech.

Exactly. Feels similar to Christmas where the general celebration has nothing to do with Christianity (aside from church specific events).

I feel like the big vibe shift has been the change from pride being about advancing gay rights issues to becoming a marketing term for mega corps to push product.

My cities pride festival had corp sponsorship on the level of the NFL. It also wasn’t clear there was a push for any political stances, just a generic “pride” branding and “love is love” messaging.

My cynical stance is American white women are generally more progressive and also one of the most important consumer demographics. By attaching themselves to “Pride” companies can market themselves to this demographic and virtue signal.

What is a “shadowy interest” that would benefit from the murder of a bunch of US 6 year olds? Also the risk seems pretty high to me, doesn’t seem like many people who are involved in 26 murders in broad daylight walk away clean.

I truly cannot believe there is a market for this nonsense. Also let’s not forget the main conspiracy being pushed was that the whole thing was fake to “get your guns”.

I suppose I just can’t picture a scenario where a “shadowy interest aligned ghoul” shoots up a US elementary school. Why would they ever have incentive to do that? The risk is also eye watering levels high. Makes zero sense to me and I can’t believe a single person buys it.

Can’t believe there was ever a conspiracy about Sandy Hook. No opinion about if the legal process was correct here but ridiculous that this was even put forward as a possible conspiracy.

These are all great points. TBH my view on London prices is based on when I’m there as a tourist so I’m likely doing all the things that are on the higher end of the cost spectrum and then comparing to more “normal” day to day activities in the US.

There is a reason it’s called Build Nothing Britain.

When comparing London to top tier cities in the US it looks like a terrible value. High housings costs but without the comparable salaries (obviously there are people killing it in London but speaking generally).

I have always loved visiting London. It is truly an impressive city with easy access to Europe but hard for me to justify living there vs top US cities.
