A moody ayahuasca-enthusiast is the most-powerful person in the Jets organization, at least through 2025 if they want to avoid a cap hit. And there’s no proper chain of command.
While i have a lot of sympathy for the fans, this is also somehow "peak Jets".
So once Trump leaves the scene, his base will go back to having formless and directionless anger which will not translate to votes for anyone
I remember establishment Democrats and various "independents" saying the same thing about Ted Cruz and the Tea Party back in 2010/12 and now we have Trump.
As many have pointed out over the last 8 years, Trump is a symptom not the cause, and forgive me if i find your claim that if we ignore the problem it will go away unconvincing.
Wait for Donald Trump to die.
Wait? This is perhaps the worst answer one could give.
The fundemental problem facing the chattering class, deep-state, and democratic party partisans is that Trump doesn't "control" the Republican base as much as he represents them (he may not be a particularly good representative, but that is beside the point). If you kill Trump there is a good chance somone else will just take his place.
If the establishment wants people to trust the process they really need to shut up about subverting the process to defeat Trump, and they really need to stop opposing things like requiring id to vote. TLDR a super-majority of Americans approve of requiring some sort of proof of citizenship to vote in federal elections and yet these are sorts of fight the DoJ is choosing to fight.
Yet despite all the breathless copy about how AI can do absolutely anything, I've found actual, tangible examples thin on the ground. So I thought I'd ask the Mottizens - are you using AI and how?
Without getting into details, I am a "algorithms engineer" for a big name tech-company. "AI" or more accurately "Machine Learning" is absolutely a core component of the job but as you seem to be aware, AI as it is popularly discussed is very different from AI as it actually exists.
As I've touched upon before, publicly available machine learning frameworks do show promise in the sense that there are clear applications waiting to be capitalized on. In your specific case of facilities management, the ability to quickly collate and summarize large swaths of disparate data seems like it would be eminently useful, but that is not something that is going to automate your job away is it?
Doesn't need to be the whole of the American elite, just enough.
Yeah, Sweeny Todding it up would have had a lot of potential.
Agreed, an updated Sweeny Todd set in a Taxi-Driver-esque, legally distinct New York, starring Joaquin Pheonix and Lady Gaga actually sounds like a lot of fun. Somone should totally make that movie.
Unfortunately that's not the movie that got made.
there's no way to express what you want to express except by using racial language
A cynic might be inclined to think that this is intentional. Somthing about updating your newspeak dictionary accordingly and all that.
Reminds me of something i read, i think it was by Ernst Junger, about how it is hard to make a truly honest anti-war film because any honest depiction of war will inevitably include a hint of what men love about it.
I don't think being "white" has anything to do with it, at least not in the conventionionally understood sense. As Jordan (aka The Drinker) himself has observed an increasingly prominent feature of the culture is its' misandry.
The way you signal your status as person of intellect and culture is by sneering at "the normies" and describing anything and everything that a normal guy might be expected to like, be it football, cars, red meat, or conventionally attractive women as problematic.
Granted for a given value of "white".
More pointedly, if people like Joe Biden are correct about "blackness" being chiefly political (you're not really "black" if you dont vote democrat) the obvious response is that it's not "white" men who are dangerous per se so much as it is the unironically god-fearing and virtuous men who are the most dangerous force. In which case it seems obvious that Clarence Thomas is "Whiter" than most current year white nationalists.
You clearly missed the memo, Milton Friedman is not running the show anymore.

Who is commiting suicide?
Its veracity isn't particularly important
Do you value the truth or don't you?
Guys like Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson were around but they were also well outside the mainstream, and widely mocked as racist grifters. Recall that Obama's association with Jeremiah Wright was actually seen as something of a scandal back in the day.
...as are blacks who vote Republican if NBC and Joe Biden are to believed.
One of the real material advantages to having the media in your back-pocket.
While the bulk of the failure being at the state and municipal level (Mayor Nagin would ultimately be sentenced to 10 years in prison for embezzling hurricane relief funds) the media sold it as a lack of federal oversight.
OOT, Has it really been 20 years?
What ever happened to "that which can be destroyed by the truth should be"
Is "DR3" false? and if it is true should we not decry them?
Its not incongruous at all.
You're forgetting that the past is a foriegn country, and that the current left/right bifurcation of the parties is a relatively recent phenomenon (within the last 50 years or so).
The man widely regarded as the founder of the modern Republican party, Abraham Lincoln, was "A War-of-Southern-Treason-era Unitedstatesian" and is still recognizably a Republican within the current framework.
Is that supposed to be a disagreement of some sort?
Most of What You Read on the Internet is Written by Insane People
I imagine that bots have begun to displace the trans-rights tumblr furries in the 6 years since that post was written but the principle holds.
I feel like I am peering into some kind of lower class bubble where displays of masculinity and femininity need to be that much more in your face because there isn't that much of it to begin with?
I think it might be worse than that. Sites like TikTok and Instagram take the worst tendencies of the extremely-online typifified by Twitter, 4chan, Tumblr, Et Al and market them to the masses.
They aren't looking for influencers they're looking for influencees
Yes, and id wager those salaries go farther too.
Part of the pitch i use when recruiting from blue states is; What's the point of making 100 - 200k a year if you're going to end up spending 90% of that to live in a filing cabinet and take the bus or subway to work? Come to [redacted], buy a 5 year old luxury car, and enjoy driving to work on clean well-maintained streets and living in an actual house.
Wish us luck against the lesser birds ;-)
Im probably not helping in a "beysian" or "utilitarian" sensense but i agree with the proverbial boomer on your shoulder.
When push comes to shove or shit hits the fan, money in the bank trumps money in stocks (or blockchain), and money in hand trumps money in the bank.
