1000% agree. I would add the additional sub-lesson is that as long as the lie is phrased at least partially as something they really want to be true it really doesn't matter how obviously a lie what it said is.

If/When the Dems regain power, especially if MAGA dies fully with Trump, what do you think is going to happen to them long term? My guess is imprisonment or just thrown off a building depending on the fallout of a Trump administration.

I would disagree. I think we are going to see full ID Trump tariffs and all. I don't think he has the patience for anyone that is going to tell him no and he's gonna pull the trigger on any idea he has that can pass legally unchallenged though EOs or he can get the legislature to pass. The two things I am most sure of in the next 4 years is that he will 1. hurt the people who believe he is the only one who can help him 2. ruin JD Vances political career through either malice or indifference.
As as aside I also highly suspect Musk overestimates the influence what he has done for Trump has bought him but this is just a hunch.

By pressing the make the economy good button along with the make inflation not have happened button? I expect a bit better from the users here no matter who they hoped would win the idea that either of them were gonna effect the economy in any major way in the short term betrays a bit of a lack of understanding.

AKA people who will either vote D or just go back into their holes next election when Trump fails to do any of the impossible things to the economy that he has promised them. If the Dems learn anything this election its that the key to dealing with rubes isn't to talk down to them or try to convince them of anything but to simply tell lies right to their face.

broad-scale strategic mistake
Closing the country at all during COVID was the biggest broad-scale strategic mistake for the left. Less damage to the economy and more dead boomers is a massive win for them in the short and long term.

Anyone who thinks that the median poster on the motte is going to do anything other than duck and cover during real civil strife is kidding themselves. (this is true of most online spaces)
nor do I believe that there is any meaningful number of progressives in positions of power who believe in executing people for expressing conservative opinions.
True but if once we got to the point where we decided as a society "we should start just liquidating inconvenient people again" it might not be entirely clear where that stopped or who would be designated disposable under that paradigm. I am just as I said playing devils advocate here, I think if we got to the point where we were just executing either thieves or conservatives society would have gone pretty far off the rails albeit in radically different directions in those two cases.

Abbott is a cripple and will never seriously be considered for a presidential ticket for that reason alone.
I mean I could but most of what I think of as victories I would imagine you would classify as defeats. The truth is it doesn't matter as more that one person can be wrong at once and as a great man once said "facts don't care about your feelings". No amount of anger at the establishment makes the "Trump is a king and he is going to hit the make the economy good button as well as the decrease prices button" worldview any less delusional.
