Did the US blow up the Nord Stream Pipeline?

https://seymourhersh.substack.com/p/how-america-took-out-the-nord-stream

That was linked to me and it appeals to my sense of - conspiracy? warmongering? ... But I also don't really understand if it could be true.

What's the consensus here about the pipeline?

(I don't really even care if we discuss the article, it's long and I don't know who the person is - just interested in all kinds of thoughts)

Hot take: you should've went to the strip club and your superiors were correct in losing esteem for you and being disappointing.

Same logic applies if they asked to go duck hunting or kayaking.

As a Pearl Jam fan of 31 years, I don't really have anything to add to your post except I'm looking at you the way a post apocalyptic government guard in a quarantine zone might look at someone who seems like a stranger and might at any moment pose a threat.

Louis CK lost over 50 million dollars after being cancelled ... We ended up doing the math on it on the old board ... If that isn't cancelled, nothing is.

This is what Trump should've taught the Republicans, but didn't really: you must fight.

featuring a sensitively depicted gay main character, a harmonious multiracial family, and a plot that deals with intergenerational trauma and the need to accept reduced living standards for the sake of the environment. Not kidding. It's also pretty damn boring

My first GF was black - we would've had kids had it not been for two entoptic pregnancies - her best friend was this small little gay dude we knew from HS who eventually got mega fucking ripped (and still super gay) - and they both had trauma from a shitty upbringing.

I am VERY (VERY!) sympathetic to being against woke shit - so much so that I mostly keep my thoughts private while touching grass - but there's a large difference between what you wrote being offensive and what you wrote making you offensive (not to me, perse). I haven't seen it yet but I was planning on seeing that and Maggie (the AI doll one?) tomorrow or just maybe Babylon (I enjoy famous people doing famous people things on screen) so I'll see how it goes when I do. There's also the point of course that in a vacuum this film might be fine, but of course, outside of itself it's the whole point that things that aren't normal are being normalized at potentially a psychotic degree.

The worst part here is if I do find the film boring ... there's absolutely nothing worse a film could be then boring.

Black criminals

That you and two others have made no distinction makes it seem you're a bit out in the woods about it.

Calling black criminals monkeys is funny and not racist - same with calling white criminals whateverthefuck equivalent.

The community wasn't calling black people great apes (that I'm aware of based on this discussion), they were calling black criminals that because black people in the US commit a vastly disproportionate amount of crime and the media doesn't cover it so people are covering it with crude humor.

I'd suggest you stop pretending people are tired of a race rather than a large minority of the race (criminals)

I've played probably 250 games of Axis & Allies over the years and 249 of them were with my buddy Jimmy. And the one that wasn't just him actually involved him as it was a Christmas present from someone's mom. Dude killed himself last year and I haven't played a game since and I'm really itching to play.

I don't think I even like board games, I think I just enjoy Axis & Allies. However, maybe I don't even like AA, maybe I just enjoyed hanging out with him?

' your sense of humor is wrong - you are a racist '

Listen I've had a criterion channel subscription since it started but calling out black criminals by comparing them to apes will never not be funny for me, and most other completely normal (relative) people that I know. We think less of you for thinking finding humor in an awful situation is racist ... And so on in a circle we'll go around each other.

There's plenty of times the word neanderthal gets thrown around for white trash crime and I doubt very much it makes you toss around the r-word.

Sorry but I'd like you to tell me more about Cali's bees being fish, please.

Is that really true?

I've only ever heard this but I just find it hard to believe.

Like, whose nuking Italy and is the nuclear fallout really going to destroy Italy? Or the Pacific islands? Florida?

Will all the missiles actually hit? Won't most be intercepted?

I just don't buy it but I have zero reference point for this aside from the 1000 & 1 times over heard it said.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2022/09/12/democrats-interfere-republican-primaries/

It's not allegedly - they spent real money (tens of millions) in several races to promote the nuttier R candidates.

I get two bulbs for 21$ but I have a 2004 Chevy Trailblazer. My first car was a Geo Metro with 9$ tires that Tire Kingdom wouldn't sell me unless I also got an oil change or something because it was so cheap. I like safetyism and features but some things seem to have wildly swung in cost.

Do new car headlights really cost 200$?

When a woman is good at something it's as meaningless as a man being good at something. It just is.

The vast majority of women sports commentators are awkward and off-putting. It would be better to have two women doing it.

Sports commenting requires repertoire with your fellow commentator, two commentators, three if they are absolute jive together, which they never are, knowing when to STFU, knowing the sport, having a sense of humor, being the right amount of gruff, etc etc.

Tbf to women sports commentators, the vast majority of men sports commentators are absolutely awful. Even the NFL can not get it right and they only need something like 32 total any given week.

I've been watching sports for about 30 years and would guess 90% of sports commentators are awful and detract from the game.

With women, they're awful AND new, so it's even more jarring. I really think that's the issue. I'll take something awful that's been awful forever rather than trying something new that's equally offensive.

Yes? We'll just hate Russia even more. What kind of question is this?

I've seen a lot of weird comments now that we know what happened that the Poles should somehow be upset at Ukraine.

I say take Kaliningrad.

I care at a radical level

Most Poles will feel at least past the level of ' giving a shit ' and that will have meaning if they want it to.

Russian rockets crossed over the Polish border, killing two farmers.

Polish government official says national security meeting was called due to "emergency situation"

Pentagon is ' aware '

https://www.cnn.com/europe/live-news/russia-ukraine-war-news-11-15-22/index.html

This stirred something in me that is rarely stirred (I was born in Poland). Some sort of patriotic anger. The Poles, along with the former Soviet states and most of Eastern Europe, absolutely loathe the Russians.

I imagine this isn't enough to send in the troops - but I could see myself reading a history book in 30 years about how Poland, and by extension, everyone else, were pulled into the Great Russian War by a bomb and two dead farmers.

Edit: Russia calls it provocation that Poland stated this

https://english.alarabiya.net/News/world/2022/11/16/Russia-says-Polish-statements-of-Russian-missiles-hitting-its-territory-provocation-

Also on the white thing, I don't consider myself white and I don't have anything in common with a Frenchman or a chick from Oregan just because we're whitish. My largest level of outrage about 'the other side' is the constant fomenting of whiteness where I feel personally attacked and have to stand against anti whiteness. Just because the other side is wrong, doesn't mean I can just objectively deny them. Just like the not so Jewy Jews of your post - but even less so.

Not to be a knob about it, but everything.

I'm just not a critic when it comes to my entertainment, and I usually don't have a tolerance for people who are too critical of things. Likewise, I understand completely when someone says they didn't like something.

I thought it was incredibly entertaining, well written, had multiple fantastic characters, had some dope ass battle scenes, etc. I just thought it was cool, and fun, and yea it was mostly a court drama about a family.

Well, for you I would say no.

I thought the entire thing was great and as good as the first few seasons of GoT.

I hate all the tacky billboards and ubiquitous stores in my state promoting a vice

Donuts ... low mileage cars ... alcohol ... fast food ...

I don't believe you have thought through your statement unless you're looking for a blanket ban on sin advertising.

Stated another way, politicians are doing a great job at convincing us that society is safer, and it's tempting to believe them.

There has never been a safer human being than a Western person currently alive.

Just because politicians are vile lying possible lizard people doesn't mean that they sometimes, on accident, don't tell the truth.

Of course I believe I should own a gun without a permit - because the bad juju still exists all over. Every home should own a shotgun.

This all would go a whole lot better without the implying implications, and just a bare statement of facts and arguments to sum up what seems to me to be a relevant and readable post.

What, do you want us to die of boredom?

I for one appreciate the post the way it is: there's a hook, an explanation, and a got'cha. It's Shakespeare.

nara did a bit of redhat killjoying, but in the proper way that I enjoy about this place. Also, I see one meme reply so far, not a bunch.

We're 50 years out from these people bombing things. We're not getting more radical, we're getting more squeamish about safety and death when one person dying possibly as the result of a delay caused by an activist is a large news story.

Can you imagine the hoopla if a climate activist blows up a bomb in NYC? As opposed to it just being another Tuesday in 1972.
