Instagram and TikTok are for tabloid tier infotainment meaning there's very little chance of the content from those platforms polluting the memespace of serious discussions and they can be safely ignored/excluded.
You’d be surprised how many people exclusively use TikTok instead of any other social media. There’s plenty of channels on there that offer news coverage as well. I think it plays a huge negative role in influencing the current zeitgeist and how young people especially view things, which is probably why America is banning it soon
It’s amazing how integrated media and corporations are as well, with their strategy to stop advertising on X as a way of crushing it. They use the excuse of “hate speech” while completely ignoring that there is the same level of heinous shit on ALL the social media apps - have they seen Tik Tok? Have they seen instagram rwcently?
Aren’t illegals pretty explicitly ethnically cleansing blacks on the West coast? Granted that’s not who OP is concerned with, but it’s similar
White flight? Sure it’s “voluntary” but it’s still coerced expulsion
That trend is inevitable, regardless of who's in office. My belief is that Trump's flailing will likelier hurt the market and my 401k worse than Kamala's empty suit.
Somehow I don’t see Trump taxing unrealized gains. So that’s one mark against your 401k
So first the FBI was hiding homicide data; and now we see scientists hiding data to advance a trans agenda.
This basically reinforces the rights argument that you can’t really trust institutional data anymore, you’re better off relying on lived experience for any topic that is politically fraught
Being gay, maybe, but for being trans? cross sex hormones have some been devastating effects on health. The female body was never designed for such high level of steroid testosterone abuse. Heart attacks in mid life is going to be a huge issue amongst the trans community in a decade or so
Yeah I see it more happening to girls in unstable home environments, where the kid is also socially unpopular and spends a lot of time on social media especially tik tok
I dispute the information was new to the FBI
Guns have valid uses, do they not?
Makes me wonder how many more “adjustments” will be made to 2023 numbers in the future. Although I’m not surprised at all yet another government agency is fudging data in a partisan manner.
And didn’t one of the debate moderators “fact check” Trump using this very same FBI data? The election has already been rigged, yet again, by misinformation peddlers.
I don’t think weed and internet usage are comparable or analogous at all for a variety of reasons
The idea is that since drug dealers are disproportionately black, they must have some special expertise that will give them an edge in legal cannabis sales.
I think it’s more the idea of reparations. Given the war on drugs has hit blacks harder. They should profit more from the repeal of unjust drug laws, so as to heal their communities from these laws. Or something. I dunno it just feels like more racial welfare giveaways. But that’s the spin.
Guns have valid uses, recreational drugs have less of a claim
In b4 “but what about alcohol” yes that’s also bad but much harder to restrict given yeast and fermentable carbs are omni-available
These bribes are the inevitable result of having racial voting blocs. It’s a literal racial spoils system with a race to the bottom. I wonder how much they offend swing voters actually though. I also wonder how serious the Dems are about it, or if it’s just an electioneer promise that will evaporate once any opposition starts.
I’m glad it failed if for no reason that if it had succeeded, doubtless movements would have started for similar measures in my own country and other Anglophone former colonial states in the west. Its already bad enough here with the constant genuflecting and land acknowledgments
No one hated Jack Dorsey or Zuckerberg the same way they hate Elon. No one’s sued him or called for his arrest. Sorry, no, it’s the fact the tweets are too “mean” now. Our elites simply cannot abide it.
That’s the same thing in my eyes
We'll have to see if the FAA or other government agencies move to block Elon from continuing this work. If Kamala gets elected, I worry her administration will attack him and his companies even more aggressively. This successful launch, more than anything else in this election cycle, is making me consider vote for Trump.
Reminder that the only reason they are going after Elon is “mean tweets”
That’s it. That’s the whole crime they’re upset about
Your point doesn’t stand in the least. You’ve marshalled zero evidence for your dismissal nor addressed most of my points
The campaign didn’t get meaningfully “bogged down” by any investigations, not anything special counsels don’t normally do
I meant the administration, and of course it did. The news covered the mueller investigation breathlessly nonstop, over an essential nothingburger. How do you think that affects an administration?
Russiagate actually did fade pretty quickly after the Mueller report in the news and from Democratic politicians
sure after about 3 years of nonstop coverage and rampant speculation (Steele dossier? Never even existed)
If you think that was abnormal lawfare you have not been paying attention to politics the last several decades
It’s true, the Dems have been terrible on that for decades, but it reached a zenith.
This strains credulity when the party controlling the presidency has shifted back-and-forth across US history with a nearly metronomic frequency.
So you think the argument is that elections have been rigged for decades? That’s the weaker straw man that’s easy to dismiss. I thought we were talking about 2020.
The obvious answer would be that if you rig too hard or too often, it becomes more and more difficult to deny. Then you have a much worse problem on your hands than merely losing a senate race here or there. Better to keep the illusion of fairness by taking an L once in a while.
Democrats absolutely accepted the result of the election. The process was not in question, and this was telling in the actual actions taken: they thought Russia meddled a bit too much and so the solution is policy to stop it happening again.
Didn’t the action they take was to spy on the Trump campaign and then bog them down in investigations that ultimately concluded the Russians did not in fact meddle? Didn’t they directly try to impeach Trump over similar issues? Didn’t the mainstream Press crow about “russiagate” for years on end? Didn’t democratic aligned judges use lawfare to nullify a democratically elected presidents policies over and over and over again? Didn’t they delay vaccine study results until after the election, murdering thousands of Americans just because Orange Man Bad?
Sorry but it doesn’t seem like they accepted Trump as the president. Wasn’t there a a whole “resistance” thing too? I mean. Sure it was fake and lame as far as resistances go, but one could argue the bureaucracy went along with it.
Yes because she laughs a lot and speaks in an odd manner; and seems confused or nervous at times. There was some leak about her asking her staff to put on a role-play dinner to help ease her nerves prior to meeting with some official. But it would be odd for someone so anxious to be also so ambitious and seeking the limelight. And if she was drunk or under medication I think she would seem worse somehow.
The interview a big W for the Trump campaign in my opinion. The podcast has the biggest reach of any other, and more exposure the better, he didn’t blow up or look dumb, not sure there’s any undecideds left to convince but this could just be a nice reminder to Trumpy people “oh yeah there’s an election I better vote!”
