the fun part about polls herding is that we rarely see the outliers, so we don't know if it is a fluke, a trend or massaged because we have nothing to compare it to.
My expectations for the election (btw - it is time to open the megathread since everything that will be coming next few days will be about it) is that:
It won't be close electoral college wise, doesn't matter who wins. There will be at least two states that are not battlegrounds that will actually turned out to have been battlegrounds. I have steeled myself for Kamala win.

Assume that you are Bioware executive - which will worry you more - that I have Dragon Age Veilguard pirated for 72 hours or that I haven't bother actually running it after I downloaded it?
Context: I adored bioware up until the launch of Mass Effect 2 (I disliked the party and character driven aspect compared to the knowledge quest of the first part), though that ME3 was too full of fanservice and had too shitty ending and haven't been seriously invested in them.
Also it is not about the wokeness, just that woke in the last 2-3 years pattern matches way too accurate to cringe and mediocrity.

Peanut the Squirrel, of internet fame, has been euthanized after the pet was seized by New York state earlier this week, according to the Department of Environmental Conservation.
The seven-year-old gray rescue squirrel, commonly referred to as “P’Nut” on Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok, was put to death, along with Fred the raccoon, so that the animals could be tested for the presence of rabies, according to a statement from the agency obtained by WETM.
The DEC claims that Peanut, who was notably docile and friendly over the course of his very public facing life, bit one of the investigators on the hand while being confiscated from his Elmira home on Wednesday.
“In addition, a person involved with the investigation was bitten by the squirrel. To test for rabies, both animals were euthanized. The animals are being tested for rabies and anyone who has been in contact with these animals is strongly encouraged to consult their physician,” the DEC statement read, according to WETM.
I don't know really where to start. They euthanized the animals to test for almost zero chance of rabies because they were incompetent when seizing them.| This story has a little of everything - lovable pets, government overreach, incompetence, heavy handedness, the type of people that love pedantry and HOAs and just bureaucrats being bureaucrats

May be because of my staunch pro trumpness, but it feels so weak. It is as if I read NYTimes piece. To me the whole creative process was - start from the ending work your way backwards. I don't think he even for a second put to serious thought who he will vote for. And if you don't do that - then your endorsement is worth as much as the Washington Post one.

Joe Biden made the following remarks:

The president then added: “The only garbage I see floating out there is his supporters. His demonization of Latinos is unconscionable, and it’s un-American. It’s totally contrary to everything we’ve done, everything we’ve been.”
First this guy is the gift that keeps on giving. I really suppose he lowkey wants to tank his party out of spite with juuust enough plausible deniability. Let's start with unpacking. First - he twists what was said - it was a comedian act making a joke, not a speaker. Subtle but important difference. Even Jon Stewart pitched on the controversy by saying - I find this guy funny something is wrong with me.
Second - this comes from the president, is not a part of comedy act, and the republicans decided to give democrats run for the pearl clutching gold. And without some charity there is no way to deflect (I do think personally that he meant the speakers of the rally, but let's be honest - he deserves exactly as much charity as Trump campaign and kill tony got).
Now the media didn't let it slide even if they gave him somewhat more charity. It's called gaffe, where as a comedian joke is taken at face value. But that is to be expected in a way.

I am wandering lately about the point of extreme spicy foods/souses etc - why bother with the pepper intermediary when you can just buy and dilute pure capsaicin for whatever is that you need? When I am eating something above 150k I never manage to get any other tastes anyway.

Authorities are investigating after at least two ballot boxes were set on fire Monday morning in the Portland, Oregon, area.
Police responded to a call about a fire in Portland about 3:30 a.m. Monday, the Portland Police Bureau said in a statement. An “incendiary device” was placed inside the box and security personnel extinguished the fire, officials said.
CNN has reached out to the Multnomah County Elections Division for comment.
So it seems that there are some vulnerabilities in the early voting system. The people are getting crazier and the whole election is getting heated. Literally.
Can you think of any other innovative tactics that could disrupt the election - especially since there is literally a non zero chance couple of hundred votes somewhere in Pennsylvania or the Midwest to swing the election one way or another.

So far the outrage seems to be localized in people that have never entertained voting for trump as a thought. And I do hope that the blue collars will pass the IQ test of "comedians telling jokes and landing flat" that the punditry class seems to have failed.

I think that your model of how totalitarian states work (I do noticed that kids these days do think that national socialism, fascism, authoritarianism, dictatorship, and totalitarianism are interchangeable words that have the benefit of meaning nothing specifically but sounding scary for the mentally hoi poloi and the intellectuals yet idiots) is wrong - even if they sometimes have issues with the true believers, they usually leave the pragmatic people with no empathy alone or employ them.

Interestingly, his chances of winning the popular vote have crept up to about 40%.
That is as unexpected prediction as they can get. I do read that she is bleeding blue collar and men at brutal rate. And Obama's scolding of black men is definitely not helping her massively. But still ... let's see next few days. It may be that we are just seeing a polls at her lower margin for one reason or another.

You create duty to self deport by a certain date. Punishment for failure is life in prison or death.
You came into UK and destroyed your passport - your problem, you have embassy. Get away - it's not our problem how. Then we will punish you until you comply.
The problem with migration is one of will, not means.
So what is your vision? After my country turns to fascism someone someday knocks on my door and take me in? Poof gone? Don't forget that there are also people knocking on doors and people directing other people on which doors to knock. Someone will have to fine tune the LLMs that will be doing the selection.
And yes it will be fun to watch America slide into fascism - I would love to see the reaction in the eyes of currently very online activists when there is suddenly skin in the game.
But there is zero chance of this happening over Trump. People just need justification to keep freaking out for stupid shit and larping the resistance.

Didn't imply anything of the sort - just that nate just made a post about polymarket overestimating Trump and then his trends moved into the same direction, just a day or two later - so lets see if it will get to 60 in next few days.
