I haven't been following the pistol brace rule process thing at all. Do you think they're going to be an option in future?
I would really like to have a shoulderable handgun for sub-50 yard work (mostly racoons and dogs in practice) that could be carried easily and concealed legally. Taking a rifle out on the road is less viable since my county became prog-central.

The DOS version has a problem where no matter what difficulty level you choose, it will revert to "Beginner" level after the first mission. This is caused by one incorrectly set bit in all DOS versions of the game (1.0 through to 1.4).
But my favorite was the one where there was an entire radar UI that just didn't do anything. Building 10 radars would give no better detection than 1, except for filling up a meaningless detection bar.
The bugs in incendiaries and smoke might take first place if I could even understand them. And I don't even want to think about all the weird mind control glitches that led to disappearing soldiers and penalties for aliens dying like they were your own guys.
In some early versions I think soldiers could overflow their exp counter and level up into useless gibbering retards with their stats at 0.
Iirc there's a bug in the "going berserk" panic code where their action points underflow the counter and they get 255 actions to automatically shoot at any aliens in line of sight until their magazine is empty. Which is fucking awesome and I love that it's a feature.

The confusion is definitely deliberate. The whole point of the "sex vs gender" distinction was to create two categories, redefine one of them, then strategically conflate them to destroy the common sense definition whenever it's convenient to. (But leave it intact whenever it isn't!)
If that sounds odd, there's also the "systemic vs individual racism" con that worked exactly the same way.

But the welfare office staff they're conning don't hate them or sit around the office all day talking about driving them into the sea. That makes a big difference.

It's very hard to go wrong starting with a plinker 22 rifle, since you'll inevitably end up with one anyway. Fun, cheap to feed, good for basic riflery practice, and handy for farm use. Mine got more rounds through it than everything else put together before that tragic day on the lake.
Everything else can sort of build off of that.
You can get a safe, but iirc trigger locks bolted to something solid meet most(?) storage requirements to the extent I pay attention to them. (Note: this is not legal, practical, or even informed advice)
Safes are expensive, I don't have one.

I tried to get one on wikipedia, and all the Stern Repudiations of Scientific Racism take up whatever parts of the articles weren't written based on Feminist Speculative Anthropologists analyzing pots and decorative beads.
I'd like some more reputable sources, like a twitter bodybuilder with an anime avatar promoting his small publishing and fitness supplements business. Or even David Reich's Harvard team.

Do you have anything to say about PSA uppers that could be printed on this christian website?
May as well post this here, but I got a few full month power bills in for the new mini split I talked about in the big heat pump post.
My kWh use is down 14% year on year (35 to 30Kwh/day, 918 vs 1067 total) despite only using electric heaters for supplementing the wood stove last year, vs for 100% of heating this November. Weather was slightly colder this year during most of November. Also a big chunk of one wall was uninsulated plywood this year, and I'm still using electric for one room and a shed.
This reinforces my point that electric baseboard is the 2nd worst form of heating known to man.
Because my electricity is $.113/kWh (with a variable adjustment of -.003/kWh), I'm only saving ~$17 per heating month so far. But that doesn't take the wood into account, and unfortunately that's very difficult without having direct measurements. If the switch was from full baseboard heating the savings would be significant even at this relatively low kWh price. Having AC now will of course increase my summer bills, but also significantly increase quality of life.
Overall it's been an unqualified success. Massively greater comfort, huge time saved not fucking with the fire (no fine layers of ash all over everything!), and all for less money. My house is all-electric right down to pumping my own water, so it's my only utility bill other than internet. Am looking for other ways to save money or build off-grid backups.
But as mentioned in the main post, I'm in the perfect location for using these things, and the electric grid is likely to be severely degraded over the next few years. More on that when I finish editing most of the swearing and Minecraft PvP fantasies out of the follow-up energy policy post.
