Leftists are adept at playing games with numerator and denominator to stuff up statistics as they see fit. Count every criminal instance committed as endemic to the nation, count every good action as particular to the community. In the Manchester Arena bombing the media kept talking about how immigrants were specifically offering free rides to victims, while highlighting how Salman Abedi was the UKs responsibility since he was born in the magic UK dirt.

It became super obvious whenever the medium terran capships (called corvettes for some insane reason defying ship classifications) did broadside engagements with each other during the first few NTF missions. The blocky GTCv corvettes all shot their green beams all over the place, barely glancing each other at times when head on. Only broadsides saw massive damage because the slashing beam sometimes travelled the length of the ship, whereas for headon engagements the TerSlash just grazed the bow of any ship. Super frustrating when seeing Shivans against Terran ships, since the Shivans usually had at least 2 fixed forward beams that pumped damage consistently.
I distinctly remember the TerSlash being a cause for me dying randomly during a few times when I tried to fly the useless Hercules II and snipe subsystems. Made no sense that I'd be nuked for no reason since I was away from the target, but I still got clipped.
Should be easy to code new variables, but the visual engine for the beam weapons remains the highlight. Maybe adjusting the anti fighter beams would yield good results; using the damage effect of a BGreen to show an oversized explosion even though the particle beam is a thin lance of pain.
God, Freespace is so damn good. I highly encourage mottezens to see this awesome clip.

For something based off 20 year old (if not more) tech, it retains excellent particle effects and highlights. And the capship scales... so good. Fighting around a Hecate class in a nebula remains a standout experience. Irritating, but standout.

Freespace 2. Absolute best space sim ever. Freespace Open and Blue Planet circa 2010 were the best space mods ever and I honestly till now think it has the best capital ship effect gameplay.
I unfortunately cannot contribute any meaningful art, coding or other actual useful development asset to the project. However, I will highlight one key aspect of Freespace capital ship matchups that proved to be frustrating to early modders in capital ship balancing: TerSlash.
Capital ship beam weapons are the highlight of all Freespace capship engagements. The giant beams of destructive awesomeness that melted a fighter if it so much as glanced the hitbox of the massive instakill beam. The sight of hp% values dropping with a single volley... or nothing happening if you were using terran.
For whatever reason TerSlash and VSlash coded beam weapons have massive variable damage due to the miss variable never being calculated correctly, and that highly affects theoretical balance of any capital ship. The greens always were better performance, but I do think the devs thought the slash effect looked better in cap ship engagements.
I will take a look at the stack and see if anything jumps out, but it looks super fun! Looking forward to throwing AI fleets at each other for space destruction!

Modern western secular humanism is meant to be an anodyne soup appealing to everyone, further diminishing the power of traditional religious and socioeconomic gentry. That the recent immigrants fins secular humanism unappealing and continue finding succour in retrograde political beliefs is inconvenient and ignored by pro migrant class aspirants.
In aggregate, cheaper consumer goods and cheaper services results in net utility increases. That said utility increase is uneven is ignored and the common response from urban professionals is to sneer at the stupid proles who dare display unhappiness with their imported replacements.
Urban professionals have made it clear that importing migrants for their personal comfort matters. So what if tens of thousands of girls are raped or dozens of girls blown up by muslims, or stabbed by imports that never contribute economically. These stupid proles should know their place beneath the benevolent auspices of the professionals, and anyone who objects is a wrongthinker whose throat should be, as white-sounding Ricky Jones said, slit in the name of antifascism.

Youths means all young men of every skin color so that you think of white chavs whenever the media reports on the poor behavior of them. The pro-outgroup white elites consider their own kin the enemy, and no small amount consider themselves part of the enemy. Their own cultural suicide is advertised as a net benefit for society.
Part of this is because only whites have a culture of self-criticism, usually because the objective is to tear down the proximate enemy. The reason for this meta being exploited seems to have gotten muddled of late, and now whites are the only ones who actively self-flagellate as a signal. The problem is that, since blacks and muslims and other cultures NEVER admit having done any fault for anything they have ever done, white people are the only ones who have a written record of saying 'we did bad things'. If I got an AI to teach 'who did bad things in the past' only white people will have written evidence of having done bad.
In this sociopolitical meta, only the highest skill players know that the self flagellation is only performative. I do not trust that new entrants into the cultural messaging will realize the game, and white men will cleave into blackpills or cucks exclusively.

The EHC thinks that they can replace the uncooperative local peasants with pliant foreign serfs. I think the democrats especially are realizing that the foreign serfs turn out to have more in common with the local peasants, and that the appeal of living under the auspices of the EHC is not the opportunity to shine the shoes of the EHC but the opportunity to live like the local peasants. The democratic EHC is still overestimating its appeal and thinks commandments from on high are diktats the local peasants will suck up, enforced by new serfs imported at EHC request.
I maintain that the new EHC of feminized wokescolds maintained a surprisingly long period of visibility because it was filled with attractive college women and men who wanted to fuck them. As these women aged and the new college women abandon femininity and attractiveness, the actual mass of simps hoping to score has diminished, and this will result in a consequent reduction in democratic EHC power for reasons that will be unfathomable to the EHC.

One thing to note is that the british officer class did/does have a sense of noblesse obligee, with higher casualty rates in officers than in men for WW1 and WW2, and even now I hear less grousing from tommies about their officers than other countries (to be fair I haven't spoken to infantry for a decade, so I might be missing something there). Again, the homogenous culture of US and UK militarIES has a flattening effect, and the british especially seemed to reserve racialized denigration of their soldiers to dismissal of foreign levies especially the sepoys/rajputs (though Gurkhas and sikhs enjoy consistent appreciation among British commanders). Modern western societies are fractured enough for this to largely no longer hold, and frankly we saw the first iteration of this crack during Vietnam where an unfit officer class rushed through low quality command school earned the ire of black and white grunts alike.

Harris has a greater claim to being black than Obama, since Obama grew up with his white mom and grandparents. That Harris is not acculturated to Black struggles because her Jamaican father was an academic who mixed with polite company instead of living the black experience is only mildly inconvenient for Harris.
Harris does not LOOK black. Her hair is flowing, she is so pale she doesn't even count as high yellow, and she talks like AOC instead of Cori Bush. Harris has little claim to the black experience even in California, and to her credit she is not running on her blackness the same way Obama did (maybe because Obama is a deft operator whose political presentation is unmatched since Bill Clinton).
Besides and lets be real here, is running on blackness a win condition? Harris is aware that the balancing game of democratic turnout and normie turnoff does not favor evoking MLK tier struggles, much less the poisoned Jesse Jackson and Louis Farrakhan style polemics that Blacks actually paid attention to. Ibrahm Kendi has thankfully been relegated to the dirt where he belongs, so the dems at least do not need to listen to him as much as they had to during 2018-2021.

Some professions and peoples are simply seen as net accretive to a society, and people trust their gut instincts on who is a decent fit. Doctors are always welcome, fruit pickers and garbagemen flip on either side, landlord 'investors' are parasites, foreign preachers are threats.
More than anything else though, humility is expected. No one expects effusive genuflection and simpering from foreigners, but sneering entitled assholes are unpopular regardless of origin. I think I should just copy paste my favorite talking points because they keep getting validated: urban elites side with foreign migrants against rural poor because political capture is the win condition for urban elites, taking from the till as they pretend to dispense the spoils.
Foreign migrants are not self selected for automatic contribution, at least in the west. The exploitable loopholes of family reunions and illegal crossings allow for an endless volume of low human capital migrants, especially mirpuris and roma for the UK, to enter unchecked and unmonitored.
The big difference is that the urban elites are happy to loudly decry white trash as the true threat, but will not say a single word about crime by foreigners. Pretending it doesn't happen makes it worse, claiming that the foreigners are actually British and therefore the crimes represent British values just makes the difference in framing more obvious.
Countries can do without a surplus of chip shops, phone sellers and cab drivers. Muslims aren't council workers or fruit pickers, and more focus will hone in on the migrant breakdown to make sure migrants are indeed 'selected' for optimality.

Honestly I think the motivation is that leftists have a bunch of internalised self-consciousness about weirdness.

Its not just the transgressive quality of progressive beliefs that is weird unto itself because it subverts or attacks existing norms, its that by making the right the weird ones it allows the left views to be laundered into normality.

The fact that riots can be easily contained is proof by negative: rioting farmers and strikers are easily corralled and contained, so why are pro-palestine and blm protests allowed to run unchecked.
There will ultimately be a very severe reckoning about visible disparities in police actions within western countries: Jan 6th and Charlottesville rioters are ground to the dirt, but BLM and Hamas protests goes unimpeded. The left wing media ecosystem can pretend it didn't happen and keep its adherents in the Guardian-MSNBC-Vox-Slate-Newrepublic bubble of liberal comfort, but the images get circulated out regardless.
