That's basically the history of common core.
Is there no path out of this particular stupid? Textbooks that are expected to last 15 - 20 years would seem to be better value. Our textbooks in the 80's were frequently from the 60's.
The subscription doesn't tell the whole story either, our small K - 5 elementary is spending 300k over two years to refresh / replace all the chromebooks used to access online learning materials.
