I'm a little disappointed about Issue 1. Frank LaRose and the Republican half of the Ohio Ballot Board's wording of the issue certainly didn't help. Oh well.

Four more years of shit... but whose shit?

Education levels, economic stagnation, and pessimism about the future, if I were to guess.

And were the Russians right?

The Coen brothers are among my favorite directors. No Country for Old Men is a must see. Fargo and The Big Lebowski as well.

The Bengals front office is neither smart enough nor aggressive enough in the draft or free agency to have the depth of talent needed to win a championship or to be consistently competitive. They have a solid run about once a decade ('05, '15, '21), but it's usually derailed by a QB injury against a division rival.

EDIT: I say this as a Bengals fan.

When I (very briefly) dabbled in triathlons in college, I heard about a student a few years ahead of me who broke a leg getting hit by a car while on his road bike in town. A professor of mine sustained nerve damage in his arm and leg after some kind of accident on a road bike. A relative of mine needed surgery on his rotator cuff after falling off a road bike on a bike path. A guy in one of my classes lost his leg below the knee while riding a motorcycle when a driver didn't see him while pulling out of their driveway.

On the one hand, you can never be too careful on the road (seriously). I have a bad knee and hip from a car accident. But on the other, maybe it's not worth riding a bicycle, a road bike, or a motorcycle. Too many people get fucked up from an accident. Yeah, it's the driver's fault. Is that gonna fix your permanently broken body? No. So why risk it? The cyclist, the driver, and their families are all traumatized from something that could've been avoided.

It's a Joker-themed courtroom jukebox musical with a bad ending that retroactively undermines the previous film, which was a Joker-themed King of Comedy and Taxi Driver remake that only did as well as it did due to the Batman IP and the media acting like it was the catalyzt of an impending incel revolution. It was a dumb idea from the start. Might've been a Matrix 4 situation, where Todd Phillips didn't want to make a sequel. Not sure.

WB is a dumpster fire and DC is on life support. Good luck James Gunn. You're gonna need it.

History that I'm unfamiliar with, but this article seems to sum it up decently. I'm sure there's more to it.

To weaken Israel politically, economically, and militarily. Hamas helps erode international support for Israel and wastes economic and military resources. Hezbollah disrupts northern Israel and makes it unsafe for civilians, who may leave for the United States. Every little bit helps.

Yeah, this is just posturing. Iran has to make some kind of response to save face/show support for Iranian proxies. It's not interested in a war with Israel (and the United States). The United States (or at least the Democratic Party) isn't interested in a war with Iran. Israel really wants to drag the United States into a war with Iran.

A strange thought: should Gulf Coast states become RV states? Hurricane developing? Everyone drives North. Coast is clear? Everyone drives back.

I'm curious what the alternative is to building homes and watching them get wrecked.

I think it'll happen. It's a now or never moment for Israel. Waning support for Israel in the US. October 7th was the perfect excuse to deal with Hamas and Gaza the way they wanted. Now the US presidential elections are coming up. It's the perfect time to handle Hezbollah the way they want.

US troops deployed to Cyprus. https://www.cnn.com/2024/09/25/politics/us-troops-cyprus/index.html

Things are gettin' spicy.

In animated form, maybe. Not live action. Too niche. Should've been part of the Peter Jackson-era if attempted. And Hollywood has regressed too much to pull it off now.

The ratio system has helped keep MvC2 interesting. You have to resort to banning characters or super arts in 3S to mix things up.

I think people have perfectly valid reasons to be thoroughly annoyed with the behavior of American and British Jewish elites and Israeli leadership for a long, long time now. I think it was a strategic blunder not to give the Palestinians a viable state of their own, and that in their greed, the Israeli leadership have deranged their own people.

Probably an improvement. The old kickoff became more and more of a formality, and the NFL was never going to eliminate the kickoff completely, so here we are. It'll likely be tweaked in the coming years. It's different. I haven't internalized the new rules yet.

My poor Bengals. Close, but no cigar.

I haven't seen the original film in years. I watched quite a bit of the cartoon show as a kid. I'll have to check it out.

Thanks for the breakdown. I haven't yet sat down and combed through all the candidates and the broader implications of their victories, so this is very helpful. I'm open to voting Republican at the federal level.

I don't care for either candidate, but I'm leaning towards Harris. I despise the Ohio Republican Party, so I'm for voting blue no matter who for anything state-related.

Dead Internet theory: Confirmed.

I read House of Leaves during high school. I enjoyed The Navidson Record, but I didn't care for the Truant and Zampanò elements. I ended up skimming the footnotes.
