The slow Brazilification of America is irreversible either way.

What does this mean?

Outlawing asylum is a principled stance, but I'd like to actually hear him and others make this argument instead of hiding behind everything being "illegal" and "fraudulent".

In other related news, FEMA send $59 Million dollars to house immigrants in luxury hotels in NYC last week, and Social Security has been sending money to dozens of people over 150 years old, among other issues like the system for SSNs not being re-duplicated.

Can't he at least include a screenshot or something? Musk saying stuff, on its own, is not evidence. If these people have pending asylum claims, they are not "illegal migrants". And how did sending this money violate the law? Are all his tweets like this?

Strangely, I think Musk probably still retains a lot of liberal sympathies, so I'd be curious to know what he thinks should be done with people who have filed asylum claims. I don't even care if he thinks the government should summarily deport all these people, I just want him to attempt a real argument instead of just dismissing everything as illegal. Has anyone ever asked him and has he ever responded to this point?

A lot of focus is understandably on HIV and its correlation with gay promiscuity, but straight people have high rates of HPV, Herpes, Chlamydia, among other STDs. Gonorrhea was famously widespread in Victorian England. These STDs aren't anywhere near as dangerous as HIV/AIDS and are not nearly as expensive to treat, so right wingers don't pay as much attention, but tax payer funds absolutely subsidize STD treatment for straight people.

Henry and Hans are gay for each other: https://imgur.com/a/VoNmnq0

If it's completely optional, why does this matter?

A gypsy prostitute from a gypsy camp you're to run errands for teaches Henry about hermaphrodites: https://i.imgur.com/ZAn8Ges.png

So what? What's "subversive" about this? Hermaphrodites have a long history.

Henry gets humiliated or outdone by women several times

So does Greek mythology.

There's a quest where you have to help make a Golem using Jewish magic, and to do so Henry apparently has to eat dead bodies? The act itself mocked as humiliating (“from Lord’s messenger to taster of cadavers”): https://imgur.com/a/bMPqJIm

Doesn't this reflect poorly on Judaism?

Some of these are valid criticisms, but the nit picking to find as many objectionable qualities as you can is purity spiraling.

Vance would support and be calling for the cancellation of a black/brown DOGE or similar employee who wanted to "normalize white hate". They would not rehire a person like that. That's the exception.

It's nakedly hypocritical and false. Vance would absolutely support and be calling for the cancellation of a black/brown DOGE or similar employee who wanted to "normalize white hate". They would not rehire a person like that.

The same reason I would be suspicious of an employee with a "White Male Tears" mug on her desk. It may mean nothing in either case, but I don't like it.

with the quality of his judgment in a professional capacity?

This is easy: he was only discovered because he commented from an account that previously contained his real name. I question such a person's professional judgement, but in fairness, I'm more worried about this guy:

Musk’s DOGE Teen Was Fired By Cybersecurity Firm for Leaking Company Secrets:

“I had access to every single machine,” he wrote on Discord in late 2022, weeks after he was dismissed from Path Network, according to messages seen by Bloomberg. Posting under the name “Rivage,” which six people who know him said was his alias, Coristine said he could have wiped Path’s customer-supporting servers if he’d wished. He added, "I never exploited it because it's just not me."

I don't want this kid anywhere near sensitive information.

I don't find it obvious at all that "normalize Indian hate" isn't a true reflection of how he feels about Indian people or why it's "shitposting". Why should couching your language in cringe internet speak spare you from criticism when the equivalent "I hate Indian people" would not?

Indeed, and those people should not be hired or they should be fired and DOGE.

The point is that they're making an exception for a right-wing racist when they would not make it for a left-wing racist.

The only reason he was discovered was because he idiotically made his Twitter handle his real name.

I obviously disagree with some of Elez’s posts, but I don’t think stupid social media activity should ruin a kid’s life.

Firing him for statements that would get him fired anywhere else is not "ruining" his life. Musk or his friends can quietly rehire him at any one their companies if they feel he has been wronged.

We shouldn’t reward journalists who try to destroy people. Ever.

An article was written that quotes what the kid said himself under his real name. Personally I'd like to know that the people currently rummaging through the government want to "normalize Indian hate".

So the administration committed to outlawing DEI is also arguing that white male employees who openly exhibit unprofessional behavior shouldn’t be held to normal standards?

Of the online comments attributed to him which is the most racist?

"normalize Indian hate"

I'm not parsing every statement in isolation because I've been on the internet long enough to know that cumulatively the tweets place him firmly in the alt-right/dissident right sphere.

It's possible he offered to resign out of embarrassment, but yeah, I agree this and Musk's other behavior over the last month reflects poorly on him. I was tepidly pro-Musk for quite some time but the way he has handled this whole USAID thing - the histrionics on Twitter especially - have left me convinced DOGE is a sinking ship. The administration was working with so much political capital and they squandered it away on what, 0.6% of the budget? Looking back, the boosted PoE character should have told us everything we need to know.

Keep in mind that this is the same Elon Musk who was calling for a purge of "racists" from the Republican party in December and retweeting stuff his followers deemed "anti-white".

It's a shame we can't have actual competent and principled right-wing advocates.

If the deep state career civil service can draw blood with a trick as old as “drag-up old racist internet comments”, then DOGE really are toothless. No one will take them seriously anymore.

How is this a "trick"? He posted comments that most people would find racist under his real name. Why should that be ignored? And they're hardly old, he was doing this last year.

Outside of X, among actual voters (including Trump voters), the things he said are at a minimum very distasteful. DOGE and Musk are increasingly being seen as petty and impulsive; hiring 20-year-old racist shitposters on X doesn't help their image and doesn't help Trump.

Not sure how that last one is conceivably racist.

It's not an uncommon sentiment for white nationalists and racists to express on Twitter, and in light of his other comments it fits that general worldview. But even if he didn't mean it in any racist way, the other comments are bad enough.

The now-deleted account was @nullllptr but previously was called @marko_elez - the staffers name.

Why would he ever say these things under his real name? This person had no business having the kind of access he did with DOGE.

Long time lurker but I was so floored by the Trump Gaza news I had to post to start the discussion ASAP:

President Trump declared on Tuesday that he would seek to permanently displace the entire Palestinian population of Gaza and take over the devastated seaside enclave as a U.S. territory, one of the most brazen ideas that any American leader has advanced in years.

Lots of immediate questions: is Trump suggesting US troops are going to forcibly displace people? What if people resist? There's two million people after all. Is he saying the Israelis will be doing the displacement and the US will back them up financially and militarily?

He also talks about turning Gaza into "the Riviera of the Middle East". Does it then become a territory of Israel?

My immediate reaction is that this could be get very messy if he's serious. I wonder how many of his own senior advisors - or even Vance - were surprised by this.
