Yeah he definitely sounds like he would belong here. A Mottizen in spirit.
make a post brah
Damn sassy as fk. Holy shit what a beast. I love stories like this hahaha wow. They really made em different back then huh?
Lmao this would be hilarious to watch
also, this is so very you. I love it.
Who has fun stories about saints/spiritual figures?
My favorite is Saint Thomas Aquinas. He wanted to be celibate and his dad disagreed. His father ended up sending a prostitute to his room, and Thomas literally grabbed a flaming stick from the fire and beat her away, then used the torch to draw a cross on the wall or some shit.
Hardcore.

DM me if you're curious
As another poster pointed out, the language you use to the describe them, and apparently the way you talk to them, convinces me that you still see women in a negative light, even if it's unconscious.
I would recommend praying to a motherly goddess and asking for revelation, but I'm a weirdo. Can also try to get female friends that you swear to never date, and be vulnerable in asking them for advice.
It sounds like you just have a very unhealthy view towards women, friend. You see them as beneath you and objects to use for sex.
I know that this is a common leftist talking point, and I'm generally more conservative, but they have a point. Women are to be cherished and loved, not used and gamed for physical pleasure. They can smell your intentions.
Yeah I'd say just go for it man. Moving in will make a lot of things clearer.
Hah I'm in the same place except... definitely some problems/red flags. But they came up after I proposed.
Getting on twitter has been incredibly good for my mental health and overall spirits. Who knew?
yeah I love the Culture series but sadly some of the later ones are pretty lackluster
oooh that sounds like the book for me. send it over once you're done ;)
Family is more important. I replied to another person, but I was wrong to disbelieve in God.
Well I was an atheist for most of my youth. I've said the story here a few times but... basically I had a really tough experience with Buddhism. Studied it very deeply for over a decade, then had a destabilizing anatta or no-self experience.
Long story short, events in my life made me think more deeply about Christianity, I went to an Orthodox Divine Liturgy, and it blew me away. I kept struggling with it, and here 2 years later I'm about to get baptized.
In terms of communism, I was a fairly standard college communist. Started studying history and philosophy, and began to realize how horribly wrong things had gone in the past with communism. That changed my mind over time.
Sorry to hear it has been difficult! Glad to get an update from you though bud. Happy to hop on a call if you ever want to chat, you know where to find me.
I was wrong about God.
I was wrong about my chronic pain being mechanical, when it turned out to be psychological/emotional.
I was wrong about communism being the best thing ever, then later I was wrong about thinking we should RETVRN to a simpler time.
I was wrong about thinking that just because someone has meditated a lot they are perfect along other axes.
I was wrong about the importance of family in life.
I was wrong about the importance of length in terms of a relationship or friendship.
I was wrong in thinking that all women were whores who gave shit tests and only cared about status and looks.
I was wrong about thinking ADHD was just a moral failing and people used it as an excuse to not get their shit together.
I was wrong about how easy it is to have a well-behaved/trained dog, or child.
The list goes on and on.
through the checklist: diaper, hungry, comfort, boredom, and only then give it more time to see if they'll cry it out. (But then, when you move them into a crib, definitely let them cry it out. Please.).
Can you expand on this? When do you move them into the crib? And why do you let them cry it out?
Eh, I disagree here. I was pretty pro-Trump going in, but after watching the debate performance I'm rating Kamala much more highly.
For me it's probably between voting for Trump and not voting at all though. Watching that debate, seeing how angry and flustered Trump was, how he didn't seem to have coherent plans besides just railing about how bad the democrats were, really frustrated me.
I was hoping he'd talk about the deficit, about bringing in Elon to increase government efficiency and cut, talk about nuclear and crypto. All things he's discussed on podcasts recently. But he just stuck to his same old annoying, and frankly disturbing angry populist rhetoric. Not a good look for moderates at all.
To give an example, I live in an apartment with my wife and my mother is the landlord. My mother charges me MARKET-RATE RENT
Ugh this boils my blood. We are going through a similar situation with my future Father-in-Law, had to argue tooth and nail to get below market rate rent at the house we're moving into.
Despite the fact that my fiance has put in literally hundreds of hours of unpaid work helping him renovate that damn house. All because he 'needs to be able to retire this year'. He just turned 60.
Makes me furious too, and she wants to care for him if or when he gets dementia. I'm a hard no on that one.
Look I'm just going to drop this here, and you can reach out to me if you have more questions or are open to this idea but...
I had major RSI and tendinitis and other issues all throughout my body for years. Had to leave work multiple times on medical leave, at some points could barely talk or use my hands because my muscular pain was so bad.
Turns out it was all psychosomatic or 'emotional'. The mind and the body are far more connected than most realize.
Just a thought, but your issues strike me as less of a mechanical issue and more like something I had. If you're curious about how I worked through it feel free to DM/ask.
Alright folks, the U.S. Presidential debate is coming up tomorrow night. I'm invested because I've got friends from both sides of the aisle coming, so we'll see what's going to happen...
What do you think will be the major issues discussed? Strengths for Trump? Strengths for Harris?
Outside of just 'debating skills' what do you think the policy strengths/weaknesses will be? My guesses:
- Trump will continue to hammer strong on immigration issues
- Abortion will still be a sore spot for Trump and Kamala will focus tehre
- Economic issues will of course be Kamala's big weakness, Trump will pounce
- War in Palestine will likely come up again - not sure how Kamala sees it (will she go anti-Israel?)
- Taxes will be a thing
- Maybe Trump will harp on government spending/inflation?
I doubt these will come up, but my personal dream is that nuclear and crypto become talking points, and Trump very publicly comes out for both. We'll have to wait and see.
So - what are you predictions my fellow Mottizens?
nah not sarcasm. I'm just a genuine boi
