Very open ended question: What do you think is going to happen with pension systems in the next 50 years? Where I live, investing the maximum tax deductible amount into pension contributions is a no brainer if the government won’t change the rules of the game down the road. But I have a hard time believing this.

I have approximately 1 male friend who posts right wing political stories on instagram and about 100 female friends who posts left wing stuff constantly. Instagram is pretty much the only real world based (as in you still connect to your real world friends as opposed to youtube/tiktok) social media anyone around me uses. I am flabbergasted how female and left dominated it is. This wasn’t the case back when everyone was on Facebook at all. I think something about social media becoming image/video dominated truly broke the gender balance.

Half check. Not aggressively but definitely a bit

I go to Greece almost more often than Turkey. But it’s always a bit cringing to see how they are obviously a fundamentally Balkan/Near East people but will pretend to be Europeans with baklava and kebab (trademarked greek food since Alexander).

Nope for cosmetic surgery. It’s a female thing though

Mostly check

What stereotypes do people have about Turks?

I think you are overestimating your ability to affect the kid

Fuck the shooting. Playing as a psycho in borderlands 2 is one of the greatest video game experiences I’ve ever had

Is there any good explanation of why the hell he went back to Russia? I sense something extremely fishy there.

Why not try to find an employer that doesn’t have a spaghetti microservices mess?

Many if not most young Calabrians would trade their left leg for a Green Card and a ticket to the US

They can take a flixbus to Switzerland or Denmark or Netherlands today and start living in very wealthy non-corrupt democracies with almost full citizenship rights.

I don't know where I came across this (might have been in the motte, in which case apologies to the person who posted it) but this is the best recent-ish traveling story I have ever read: https://forum.expeditionportal.com/threads/democratic-republic-of-congo-lubumbashi-to-kinshasa.50799. Two Belgians driving in about a month through Congo in 2008.

I think you are about a couple years late to the party? I remember this shit was insane around 2018. Every kid I ever interacted with was constantly watching slime videos or playing with slime.

First of all, I don't have any advise other than the very obvious: don't be an idiot, marry this girl, if you break up with her you will immensely regret it and any casual sex you can have will probably not be better than with her.

But a question: Were you experienced with hook-ups when you started dating this girl? When you have these longings are they associated with images of what you had done in the past or just internet porn?

This is very common in Turkish. Language substrate of old Turkic, blended with a lot of Persian (anything literary), Arabic (anything religious), French (anything modern pre-1960s), English (anything modern post-1960s). There are usually multiple ways to say the same thing from each language and it gives the sentence a different vibe.

I feel like making larping epic music about wars long ago is only a bit cringy but about the forced conscription drone deathmatch meat grinder that’s currently going on? From your cosy Swedish studio? That would be quite beyond cringe.

Broken condoms, skipping putting it on when passion is running too high, ”let’s do a bit without and then put it on” type of calculations etc

Were you able to close your eyes during sleep paralysis?

I don’t know if this is part of the calculation but Saudi oil infrastructure is extremely vulnerable to Iran made missiles/drones launched from Yemen. They have done some attacks in the past but if things really escalate then houthis have very real retaliation options

Is the call to prayer broadcasted via speakers?

There are very few important political actors in Central America who doesn’t have some sort of ties to some drug crime. It’s typically more useful to think of the “cartels” (what a weird name when you think about it) as public-private partnerships between the drug entrepreneurs and different levels of the government. The real difficulty these states have fighting against cartels doesn’t have anything to do with regular policing problems. It’s the challenge of organising the state apparatus to fight parts of itself. Army against police departments, judiciary against army, central government against provincial governors etc is how it usually goes. There is a reason why these states get a new “totally not corrupt this time” police department every 5 years to investigate the other police departments. “Cartel”s are often just a part of the state organism

The funny thing is, we did not really have sex-ed at school as I grew up in Turkey (and have teenage pregnancy rates in very low single digits, go figure m) but a specific biology teacher who considered herself very modern and progressive and did some grad course in the US dumped the American high school sex-ed curriculum on my high school class. A bit ashamed to say that I am personally a rather risk averse person so for years I just kept a condom unless the girl asked for otherwise and never bothered to research much about it beyond this.

Wool?

Should I ask how you that they are great?

I was into a girl who did this at some point. Didn’t want to question her too much to not kill the mood. Thanks for giving me the key word to search. I believe this is indeed what I was mostly looking for
