Elon is very intelligent, so he likely learns way faster than other people.

Gleba got us (me & cjet) pretty stumped for the first 3-4 hrs. Eventually I figured out the cursed mechanics and got something going. And yeah, we imported everything to start, power generation, tesla turrets etc.

I deleted everything I built on Gleba that researched the basic tree Ag-tech using stuff, and built a better base that's almost hands off. Took a good look at what I was doing, scaled it up, plugged every inserter into a combinator so resetting the filters on inserters is more convenient, because that's simply a must.

One mistake I made was running nutrients around the base. That's dumb - you run bioflux around and generate nutrients in each module. I feel ideally it should all be run around the base on a loop, I think I'll try that next time I'm rebuilding it.

Apart from that, one needs a really robust spoilage removal system. My second build usually gets clogged on spoilage removal. The nice thing is all the junk or unspent jelly or mash produces enough energy that my nuclear reactor is mostly just backup. The Heating tower has something like 400% efficiency for some bizarre reason. vastly better than boilers.

The one unsolved issue is how to avoid wastage and export only the choicest unspoiled flux. I'm thinking maybe running bioflux in a loop is the way to go so no more than needed gets generated.

As to defenses, we are at evolution 1.0 and spamming 4 rocket 16 normal turret firing positions, spaced 2 pylons apart works fine and stops every attack but gets half-stomped. If you add in a tesla turret that prevents the stomping altogether, just damages it. It's key to not taking losses without having vastly more rocket turrets. Don't think mines do anything to the stompers. Didn't try flamer turrets.

We never had really serious issues with the Gleba wildlife bc of early pruning and artillery.

but I think I'm going to play around with delivering ammo by drone to gun pods and see if that can keep up with threats

They really could've made Gleba way messier by increasing the gravity. I'm even harvesting the fruits with drone, still no issues with power.

You can make the tank faster with exoskeletons.

Number of children.

Better start at relationship status, % of adulthood spent in a relationship ? That'd be interesting to know.

By centrist I don't mean someone who is in the political centre as party politics are concerned, just someone with no firm ideology or agenda.

Apart from his opposition to transgender issues, what politics does he have?

Wanting an efficient government that obeys the law and preferences of citizens and that isn't getting in the way is pretty much a non ideological.

Nobody but certain very narrow segments of political class desire infinity migration.

If NATO directly entered the war with large numbers of its own combat forces, it would defeat Russia's military and drive it out of Ukraine.

Assuming it's actually prepared for war - which a peacetime army never is - if it paid the prices of thousands of dead and adapted and the public endured the thousands of KIAs etc and started winning before running out of expensive ammo ..it'd just get tactically nuclearly striked after getting onto rightful Russian clay and then run away, wisely, because a blood soaked piece of mostly useless land is not worth ending the world over.

In conclusion, for the moderates and centrists: Your signal is jammed, and only extremism will be boosted on either twitter or bluesky.

Musk is pretty much the platonic idea of a centrist, no ?

Sick of the bots and echo chamber that X has become

The Indians are annoying, but to me the bots are just noise. I tune it out. Big accounts are pointless, but .. echo chamber? Go somewhere outside of your immediate circle and you find entirely different people.

Seems like a small matter.

Honestly with how generous the game is and the benefits to scaling, this doesn't seem like a big deal. If you're exporting stuff, it's single commodities. If you're exporting components for ship, you're probably wanting to get enough for spares and all that so..

You mean you can't custom-load rockets with multiple things using circuit combinators because.. there's no way of accessing Space Platform demands ?

Correct escalation would have been blowing up the Ukrainian Congress building and saying "stop that", but obviously Russia can't.

They've had the capability to blow up any building in Ukraine since day 1, if they expend enough missiles on it.

Do you remember when the Ukrainian legion was announced and a large compound in the West of Ukraine got bombed and it was only sheer luck that there weren't hundreds more dead ?

This guy who was there remembers.

It seems perfectly adequate... ? Within the simplified framework of the game. Obviously you'd try to use reusable vehicles if possible etc, but .. operations-wise it seems okay.

You can just add some circuit logic to it and it's golden. Doesn't ask for more stuff than there is etc.

The only downside is only one cargo pad per surface and that IMO there's no materials requirement for getting stuff down.

None of these factions had credible means to kill Zelensky. Doing it up close is an extremely hard suicidal special-forces operation.

Doing it by Iskander is plausible, but there's little evidence Iskander units take orders from anywhere else but Kremlin.

Seeing what happened after NATO crossed the reddest fo red lines and pulled off a blatantly US coup in Ukraine, what with the US department of state people on the scene, Russians do seem to care about some red lines.

Suppose US somehow converted cca 1000 tomahawks into land-launch configuration, a feat theoretically possible in months if SpaceX or similar company were involved.

Suppose they were trucked to Ukraine, it'd only be like ~200 big trucks, and launched in mass through Belarus against carefully chosen targets which would mean Russians would, even at best ,shoot down only a fraction as intercepting them all would require having an uninterrupted chain of SHORAD along Russian western border, which they don't have.

I doubt Russia has enough fighters and enough AWACS planes to shoot them down. Suppose 100 important targets - bunkers, strategic infrastructure, ammo dumps - were hit in a morning.

Maybe Putin is cuck enough to take that, knowing America doesn't have the depth of arsenal to repeat that. Or maybe next massive cruise missile attack against Ukraine would just keep on going west and start hitting over-the border logistics hubs seeing as it's really hard to argue all that American hardware driven just across the border and fired off wasn't really Ukrainian.

US doesn't have any attack ballistic missiles worth the name.

As far as I can tell, no NATO country has accurate, long-ranged (~1000 km+) ballistic missiles that are dual-warhead. Yes, US could theoretically nuke Moscow if someone stuck a nuclear warhead inside a Taurus missile and it didn't get shot down.

But seeing as Russians make no secret of having a dead-hand system, that's of very limited utility.

..yeah it's definitely not a game for people with both kids and time-consuming jobs. Unless they know it there and back and can just speed run it - something like 75% of the time is just tweaking stuff.

I joined up the game after seeing the ad. I've been meaning to use use it to finally build up my vanilla megabase using circuit-logic based crude train logistic network I never finished.

It's really simple, based on I think Nilaus's video for inspiration and I'm not sure if it'll scale to the skies but we'll see.

There's 3 kinds of stations: intake (train gets unloaded, source where it gets loaded, and depot where it is if nothing is needed to get done).

Intake station is open if all is true:

  1. it's missing enough of a resource
  2. there's enough of a supply (green wires)

Source station is open if all is true:

  1. there's enough demand (red wires)
  2. it has enough to fully load 1 train

It's not that efficient, but it does work. The big problem was first time around I never really settled on a single design for the circuits so I had a whole mess and couldn't keep track of which actually worked. Solved that problem...

Looking at Factorio blog that came up since, it seems you can just now get away with 2 types of trains: liquid and item ones. https://factorio.com/blog/post/fff-389

You want high quality modules, but even then, if you're properly scaling production, for a 10% decline in output you can get higher quality components. Having an entire whole line of production is no big deal as you don't need for everything and you can simply feed that into bot-based malls.

As to jamming up logistics -nothing is as simple as putting in circuit that says "if component X >10k then have the extra put into this requester chest for recycling".

The big problems happen when you stop recycling. Fulgora has ample energy from the lightning so just scaled up battery storage. And that's how we ended up with 300k pieces of ice and solid fuel.

I recommend burning that crap and really recycling. Good batteries and solar panels are invaluable for ships.

Thanks. I mostly know them for getting people to kiss the ring on TV...typically after saying something critical of Israel or more rarely, Jews.

I wonder how many people read that .. it's an exercise in tedium that in the end amounts to basically nothing except "you must censor people" and "pass hate crime laws" and doesn't even try to explain how low or no immigration is bad.

to hang out with his friends more.

What friends, though ?

~15% of Gen Z have no close friends, that's probably a serious portion of people who feel lonely.

ED = eating disorder, in this context?

Has there been any talk from Trump cabinet side about changing the perverse incentives? Seeing as SV donated a lot, and SV would like reactors for datacenters..

The ADL

The American ADL has been pushing for .. mass migration into Europe? I don't like it at all, but that seems rather far from its notional remit.

Rewrote it a little. I assume 'recruiting for a cause' is bad if you're trying to create a bloc on this site to influence this, no? This is just placing a somewhat relevant advert that points off site and isn't going to create a bloc here.

Hasn't said anything publicly, but I don't think he's ever done anything lightly, at least on twitter. He posts at times, sometimes discusses tech or politics but he's never led anyone on or was silly.

I think it's a serious offer.

If I add in context are you going to make it visible ?

The link is self-explanatory.

A pretty impressive guy who has been mentioned here and who got cancelled for saying his mind is apparently tasked with recruiting people to reform key institutions.

What more should one post?

I guess you could just cram it into the CW thread, but

a) it's not even really worth debating.

b) it's fairly important information. Wouldn't everyone here want better Us institutions ?
