I feel like gold digger is the wrong angle to come into. I've been in a similar position dating, managed to date a bunch of professional high-flyers I met through various apps, and it's more of a 'I want a partner who's a financial equal' thing than a 'I expect my lifestyle to be subsidized' thing in a lot of cases

I feel like Writer has its own appeal, despite being associated with impoverishedness.

The possibility made you put a bit more thought into where you were putting your genitals, especially with the threat of the half-decade go nowhere relationship.

IMO it's a birth control issue as much as anything. Back in the days of spontaneous unwanted pregnancies, these things were a bit more self-resolving.

I mean you can, but it tends to unravel pretty quickly if you ever get behind the 8-ball

Yeah. I think there's dodginess rife but it's likely to just about even out on the aggregate

Were the 1960s Residential Schools subject to outbreaks of Cholera in a literal frontier?

Honestly this is what perplexes me the most about indigenous culture war. I feel like one side reads the horrors of colonialism, but then doesn't engage with the horrors of general pre-modern human life.

give native children a Westernised upbringing so they could fit into mainstream society and be lifted out of primitive superstition and squalour.

Honestly I'd love to get an unbiased, clinical review of what exactly the median life outcomes were of receiving a Westernized upbringing through 'the stolen generation' and/or other equivalents versus remaining in remote communities. I've yet to be convinced that the former strategy didn't actually do more good than harm, though it'd be absolute anathema to actually try publish that.

I also think birth control/modern contraceptions allowing spontaneous, unplanned pregnancy to be massively minimized is a large factor, and the artificial womb doesn't really change that.

Couples are waiting till 'the time is right' to actually try and have a child, and the time is either never right or arrives at a point where the child is a lot harder to create due to fertility issues etc. The artificial womb doesn't do a ton to change that.

Exactly. There's pretty huge economies of scale in managing young children, whether it's between siblings, cousins or general neighborhood factors. Families drifting apart from each other, and the reproductive rate dropping as a whole, have essentially killed a lot of the positive feedback loops

Honestly I think the gameplay issue is that the engine works a lot more interestingly with the logic of Divinity than it does with DND 5e translation. Stuff like the armor/crowd control/floor systems in DOS2 just worked better, IMO.

Character wise, it's fair to say most fat people have bad posture and less attention to hygiene and style, though you can imagine causality working either way.

Honestly having lost about 20 KG from 130~ KG to 110KG at 6'3 and going from 'I need to actively hunt for clothing in my size that isn't a tent' to actually being able to walk into a reasonable department store and buy clothing off the rack that is semi-fashionable, suddenly style became a lot easy to participate in.

Also Big Man's Stores rarely do discounts on their upsized nice clothing, whilst getting to the point of buying from a standard department store means I've suddenly got an ability to participate in deals, clearances and the like. Buying 'nice jeans' would previously have cost about $150 AUD per pair, now it's closer to $50 if I'm at all patient.

King Von's shooting happened in Atlanta, but probably similar levels of care and ability

Atleast you're aware of the situation.

I find that the majority of blue-tribe girls are actually a lot more conservative than they self-identify, it's just you've got to report fealty to the big topline shibboleths and the power level will reveal itself in a few months.

Left wing by far

Having participated in the modern dating market, it's pretty staggering how different your reception is 'on the apps' with moderate in your bio versus left-wing. Changing that one detail literally 4x'd my response rate.

Exactly. The 5 people left who still care about COVID are also likely fervently blue tribe so it is completely pointless for Trump to try and appeal to them.

I honestly feel a lot of the COVID hawks just assume the vaccine was a lot more effective than it actually is, and thus happily just kind of said 'Oh, vaccine's available, back to normal life' whilst simultaneously overrating the impact of COVID & the vaccine by a major factor.

Also I've got friends who are still habitual maskers, but the majority were germophobes & borderline OCD-types even before the pandemic who've now got license to indulge their pre-existing instincts and interests.

Yeah but these standards aren't upheld for tragic losers of other vanquished nations. Sitting Bull's vision for America likely falls far short of the current USA on practically every metric, but he gets a monument as a vainglorious upstart who fought for what he believed in.

No amount of makeup and toning is going to make a 55-year-old woman physically attractive to the broad majority of men, much less a 70-year-old woman

This is going to shock you, but there are older men who'll enthusiastically pursue the same level of simping for an older woman in reasonable shape. I know 50 year old women who are essentially still existing off flirtation and prettiness

Not a doctor, but as somebody who did a lot of dating in the last year or so in UMC circles in Australia,, I was pretty flabbergasted by both the sheer amount of UK medicos that'd relocated down here + the conditions they reported financially & work-wise. These were caring, type-A, intelligent women and largely just decided post COVID years that they no longer had any interest in continuing to engage with the system in the UK.

There hasn't been a single invasion going out from India in recorded history

Feels like pretty obvious geographic barriers unless they'd like to invade... Sri Lanka? It's either desert, the Himalayas or deepest darkest jungles.

I'd guess you've got a lot more visibility of food service workers doing their jobs than you do of white collar workers doing their jobs. I do agree that there's a significant level of wandering away from the point with the visas, but I'd imagine the majority of food service workers you're seeing are in the country on educational visas (even if there are a lot of shambolic nothing institutions springing up as glorified visa mills) and supporting themselves that way.

Potentially lockdown conditions caused more of a pentup energy/less access to other activities that'd otherwise serve as a natural distraction.

Also my understanding of 2020 was that a lot of rioters weren't even necessarily local to the areas they were rioting in, which surely would contribute to the ability to stay focused.
