I'm in Germany with the family. Visiting family and doing touristy stuff. This is the first time we've traveled with all the children. It's challenging when one of the four only eats french fries. Many museums and other attractions have family pricing that admits two adults and 4 children, though typically not places the children would choose to go.

It's also strange being back somewhere you've not really been in ~20 years. There's been plenty of culture war topic noticing. Some of this is seeing all the change at once that was paced over years for everyone else.

There are still many things Germany does better. The ubiquitous availability of beer, still being one. Food quality and price being another.

don't have kids, focus on your career and education

Isn't this the message to all women, and the poor are just poor responders?

The ladies that respond the best to this message and spend years in rigorous study are likely the women it would be best for our civilization to marry while young enough to maximize their fertility.

Defending rather than rebuking or chastising their ill behaved children.

Generational NEET

Yes, but there's still much judging to be done. Luther and Calvin are clear.

But, lest we may stumble at this preaching and misunderstand it, if hereby it were altogether forbidden to judge and pass sentence, it is clear from what has often been said above, that Christ is preaching here only to his disciples, and is not at all speaking of the judgment or punishment that must occur in the world; as father and mother at home among the children and servants must judge, rebuke, and also chastise, if they will not do right.

These words of Christ do not contain an absolute prohibition from judging, but are intended to cure a disease, which appears to be natural to us all. We see how all flatter themselves, and every man passes a severe censure on others. This vice is attended by some strange enjoyment: for there is hardly any person who is not tickled with the desire of inquiring into other people’s faults. All acknowledge, indeed, that it is an intolerable evil, that those who overlook their own vices are so inveterate against their brethren.

Democrats (which are very much pro Israel)

Can you point to the US anti-Israel or not pro-Israel party?

I'll conceded the Democrats are pro-Israel, I'm unconvinced they're more pro-Israel than Republicans.

Exactly, don't sacrifice your children to Baal. Vote Moloch.

Certainly rakishness should be policed in men.

Traditionally the tools available tended to be more effective in women. Women being better responders to social pressure.

I'd choose Hitler's Germany over Stalin's USSR if those are my only choices.

I read it to mean compelling or aggressively encouraging women to not be floozies.

Briefly searching for churches in Anchorage those were the first three that appeared to meet my criteria of a traditional approach to Protestant Christian theology.

Were I look for a new church I'd visit several that offer traditional teachings until I found a good fit.

You're not a Christian yet. Meeting with and talking to Christians, seeing yourself and the world through a Christian lens is a great way to learn about the Christian faith.

Not yet. Learning about the faith is good way to begin.

Pentacostals wouldn't be my first choice.

Sadly the congregational church in Anchorage seems to be of the 'open and affirming' sort.

The Christian Church of Anchorage, Anchorage Church of Christ and Faith Lutheran Church looking at their websites are where I start looking for a church home.

Religious belief may take time. I wouldn't presume everyone is in the same place spiritually. Sharing fellowship with fellow Christians is a great way to strengthen your faith.

loss of America's nuclear umbrella

Are we pretending that Israel doesn't have its own nuclear capability?

Myself I would look for a protestent church that isn't too large without pride, trans or other current thing flag or banner. Many of these congregations are growing as other current-thing congregations self-destruct.

Most Eastern Orthodox would also have traditional views of marriage and family. They likely also have a formal educational program for adults that some may find appealing. I'm sure they'd welcome newcomers, you could talk to the priest before attending a service if you were nervous or had questions. Many of these congregations are picking up former members of the Roman Church.

Church?

Many will have coffee or fellowship following service. People will likely make an effort to engage with someone new.

Isn't this adjacent to how co-op operate? Co-op buildings or supermarkets.

No probably not.

I suspect some may draw a distinction between condoning or advocating for specific political violence domestically and general or specific military violence by a foreign state against their forever conflict opponent.

Reciprocal violence is still violence.

There are a number of Danube bike tours. I've heard positive 1st hand accounts.

Average Centrist Dad as an achievable example of pro-social masculinity

Shouldn't this be the minimum standard? I was thinking of something more aspirational.

A lot of that still sounds like hope.

No I didn't read your comment as promoting menacing.

Our societies used to have solutions to the outdoor gay sex party problem. Buggery was illegal in many jurisdictions. Even after it was decriminalized public sex in parks or toilets was still criminal and there was a stigma still to participating in homosexual activities.

Now that buggery isn't a crime in the west. The stigma on homosex is largely gone, in the west. Policing and prosecuting public sex acts is virtually non-existent in the west, people are left to solve their own problems. In some areas I suspect this would look like armed neighborhood watch groups rousting those they suspect are up to public buggery.

I'm not sure this encounter rises to horrific.

How do you limit or reduce undesirable behavior by a determined cohort if it's not prosecuted or stigmatized? Vigilante groups have been a traditional answer.
