And the fact that she was only able to kill the Witch-king through a linguistic loophole is particularly galling.
An unfortunate side effect of the adaptation. Merry stabs the Witch-king with a barrow-blade, which inflicts such a wound that Eowyn's strike actually destroys him. The "no man can kill [the Witch-king]" is a prophecy of Glorfindel that "not by the hand of man shall he fall", not a loophole. Yes, it was a woman and a hobbit that did it, but it's a description of the circumstances, you know how prophecies go. Aragorn giving the hobbits the barrow-blades instead of the hobbits receiving them from Tom after their experience in the Barrow-downs strips out the context of the hobbits' weapons as powerful artifacts in their own right.
So passed the sword of the Barrow-downs, work of Westernesse. But glad would he have been to know its fate who wrought it slowly long ago in the North-kingdom when the Dúnedain were young, and chief among their foes was the dread realm of Angmar and its sorcerer king. No other blade, not though mightier hands had wielded it, would have dealt that foe a wound so bitter, cleaving the undead flesh, breaking the spell that knit his unseen sinews to his will.
Cup of oatmeal for breakfast every weekday seems to work well enough for me. Call me Captain Obvious, but diet and lifestyle is gonna be a significant factor in all parts of your health. Are you getting enough fiber? Are you drinking enough water?
It is every red-blooded American's moral duty to resist and repel invaders.
I've been using ibb.co recently, worth giving it a shot. No account required, which is a plus for me. There's also catbox.moe.
It's a massive improvement for the illegal alien, I find myself noticing. An acceptable improvement from my perspective is "get in the van now" as a downgrade from "get in the oversized trebuchet now".
Thou shalt have no other Input Devices before me.
Thou shalt not make unto thee any gamepad schema, or any input of any thing that is in joystick above, or that is in d-pad beneath, or that is in the console under the telly.
Thou shalt not bow down thyself to developer's recommendations, nor serve them, for I the Keyboard thy Input am a jealous Input, visiting the iniquity of the peasants upon the controllers of the third and fourth and fifth and sixth and seventh and eighth console generation of them that hate me.
And lo, PCsus spoke, and asked:
Didst thou play Dark Souls with KB/M? If so, hatest thou thyself? Let him who is without joystick sin among you cast the first controller down. Also play Persona.
Okay, silliness aside.
The confirm button in dialogue and combat is "move right", not "interact", so if you want to switch your target, you have to cancel the skill, select it and select the skill again.
No it isn't? I've got it pulled up right now, confirm is F, QTE is space, and you can switch targets with A and D while you have a skill selected.
You can have six active skills per character, but you have to split them into three banks.
Not really new to me since I'm familiar with skill management from Persona and Clair Obscur's skills have more stuff going on, so it makes sense to me to break your skill view into pages for easier reading.
If FF/RPGM Attack/Skill/Item arrows/confirm/cancel menu is bad because you want the player to keep one hand on the mouse for free aim and jump counters, why not use a radial menu that can be controlled from the mouse alone?
I haven't hadn't used the KB/M controls until a minute ago but this sounds reasonable to me. That said, I don't know what the deal is with your confirm button issue but it's not part of the default KB/M controls. What keyboard layout do you use?
While I've got you, how do you feel about the diagonal party interface?
Slay the Spire 2 got delayed. 😕
What's your beef with the controls? Maybe I'm just comfortable with the Persona 5 layout, or are you using keyboard controls instead of a gamepad?
I subscribed to Factor for about a year, I had a long commute so it was worth the time savings IMO and broke my Doordash habit.
Congrats on finishing the chairs, they look super nice!

Unfathomably cultured.
Not the full song, but Boomhauer Performs Rap God.
I use this custom CSS for reddit-like upvote/downvote arrow colors. Worth noting that on my phone, I have to tap on something else after tapping the vote arrow for the color change to apply. Works with no surprises on desktop though.
.active.arrow-up::before {
color: #bd2130;
}
.active.arrow-down::before {
color: #0062cc;

Well, what's our cutoff point for historical precedent versus today?
Only in one direction is there a grisly history of racially-motivated lynchings.
What is the punishment for the crime of being white in the wrong place? I submit the theory that a significant percentage of the black-on-white murder rates are, in effect, racially motivated lynchings.
Uh, did you just clankerpost?
Very curious too. How much of the coalition is genuinely tied into Trump the man.
I was a pretty early adopter for Trump, and my thought process went something along the lines of "There's no way the usual gang of Republican candidates are going to be anything other than (leftist-overrun) Politics As Usual, what I want is someone who'll tear up the floorboards and burn out the shit down to the foundation. Who's got the moxie to do it and the money to not be bought away from it? Trump's run before, I've kinda laughed at him running for years, but he's kinda my best bet. Plus shitposting a president into power would be an even better prank than putting dear old mootykins on top of the Time 100 poll, and it'd be a great kick of the tires to see if it's possible to get a president that isn't in The Usual Gang Of D/R Career Candidates."
So, at least for me, it's not that it's Trump the man, it's that it's /ourguy/. Which includes Vance, Elon (and I was not expecting that 12 years ago), DeSantis somewhat, and the people that are willing to play ball. Which does include some of the members of The Usual Gang, but I can work with that.
I think Hellsing Ultimate has a pretty great dub. Also (and I know some would say this is breaking the ruurus) the dub for Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt fits the "Powerpuff Girls but X rated" style. It's bretty gud.
Uh, rescuing the students?
How about revealed (or implicit) tolerances? Downgrades the intentionality of wanting implied by "preferences" to simply "acceptable results" .
The .win family kinda tried that, branching out from The Donald to some other rightish culture war subreddit bunkers, but it's difficult to call the results a success.
Sorry this is low-effort, but the fact that woke has become a catch-all is a bit of a symptom of the style of discourse it describes. See Freddie de Boer on this effect. You're asking a fair question though.
FUTO Keyboard has this as well, plus swipe typing, minus Microsoft selling your input data. Worth checking out. I can just long-press H and the em-dash is the first symbol option.
Regarding Uchikoshi works, would you recommend I check it out if I vastly preferred 999/Zero Escape over Danganronpa? It doesn't exactly look subtle.
Random people online were able to sense a threat that leading experts weren’t able to sense, and made arguments that leading academics did not make. Why?
My belief, based on my recollections of the time, is that "leading experts" and "leading academics" were the originators of the social justice memeplex, and therefore wouldn't make arguments against it even if they could conceive of them. In support of this, the common dismissal at the time of "it's just college students spending too much time on tumblr" highlights that this memeplex's breeding ground was immediately downstream of leading academics. Or perhaps more accurately, academia was the superfund site and Tumblr was the groundwater.
Sorry if the metaphor is too dramatic, I'm feeling bitter.

I have some concerns about P4R, mostly about localizers possibly diddling with Naoto's characterization. My source for these concerns is ultimately my ass, but enough of the Modern Audience Discourse about P4 revolves around a motivated misreading of Naoto and Kanji's characters that I'm very much suspicious of how the localizers will handle it.
Then I have a design gripe that isn't a huge deal but still struck me with P3R - I kinda like the less P5-streamlined combat. Baton Pass/Shift removes some of the friction between hitting a weakness and setting up an All-Out attack, which I liked in P5 but I realized that abilities felt less impactful because they reduced down to "hit the right color in single target or AOE and then get the bulk of your actual damage from All-Out". When your All Out setup relies on the turn order and double-tapping enemies to down them and keep them down, your ability damage matters more, you're more directly incentivized to use physical attacks and discover how massively useful crits are (fun fact: I played P5 first and didn't realize critical hits were physical only until late game because there was only one physical damage type that wasn't disincentivized by limited ammo and I was conditioned to fish for All Outs with magic attacks). There's a whole bonus dungeon that relies on your mastering the knockdown -> dizzy mechanic to not get swept by some crazy enemy groups while your SP is actively sapped after each fight. The combat system has a grit to it that I really enjoyed that got smoothed over in P3R, IMO at least a bit to its detriment.
